During the pandemic, many Americans fought back against certain draconian guidelines and rules. They claimed such edicts directly infringed on their freedoms, and lawsuits started to fly.
One mother wasn’t about to let her sons’ future be ruined by these guidelines, either — now she’s fighting back with everything she has.
Stephanie Lundquist-Arora has three sons in school. Or rather, she had three sons in school before they were suspended for not wearing face masks.
The school claimed this was a “violation of the dress code,” but Lundquist-Arora wasn’t buying it. She couldn’t believe her children had been suspended from school for such a minor infraction.
She filed a lawsuit against the school and submitted two appeals, but didn’t get anywhere, as the lawsuits were dismissed and only one appeal is pending.
That won’t stop her, though: this American mother is calling in the big guns for her sons, who she believes were wrongfully prosecuted in this situation. As she told The Daily Caller:
I’m going to use all of the resources I have. I’m going to try to ask the Youngkin administration to help me out, maybe the Virginia Board of Education.
Legally, I’ll have to see what kind of legal avenues there are in order to have their records expunged. It’s just not fair.
Lundquist-Arora is going to the top on this one, petitioning both the Virginia Board of Education and newly elected Governor Glenn Youngkin.
She might get somewhere with Youngkin, as he is a staunch believer in conservative values and has fought back against leftist rules since upsetting his Democrat opponent late last year.
This includes condemning draconian COVID-related guidelines, so he probably won’t like to hear about 3 sons getting suspended for a face mask “violation.”
In fact, Youngkin signed an executive order in January that said students didn’t have to wear a mask if they had parental approval. And yet, the school found a way around that by saying it was a violation of the “dress code.”
Unfortunately, this suspension gets attached to all the boys’ records, and could really hinder them moving forward. Said their mother:
Isn’t it crazy that his future academic pursuits can be affected by conscientious civil disobedience when he’s 12 years old over a piece of cloth on his face?
She added that the biggest issue is that the school board members and administrations are all about politics, not academics. This has been a common complaint of parents for years now, especially in regards to the pandemic.
With the vast majority of school officials leaning far left, the problem becomes even more serious. Parents feel like they have almost no control.
However, it’s encouraging to see a mother fighting so hard for her children’s future. She won’t let this haunt them as they move forward, and many other parents are likely to applaud.
