Donald Signs Urgent Executive Order, Millions Of Veterans Affected
By Mick Farthing|January 18, 2018

It’s a crime that liberals will put illegal aliens before their own citizens. Millions of aliens and criminals are taken care of by liberal states. But our own? They are neglected.

This is especially true for our veterans. These men and women suffer incredible hardship, just so we can be safe. They endure physical and mental pain. Often when they return home, they face greater challenges. But what do they get in return? A pathetic VA that ignores them, mistreats them and abuses them.

It’s time that was brought to an end. President Trump, in keeping with his vows, signed an executive order that should bring needed help to our vets.

From Daily Wire:

On Tuesday, President Trump signed an executive order instructing the secretaries of defense, homeland security, and veterans affairs to improve access to mental health care for veterans during the first year after their exit from the armed forces. Trump asserted, “We want them to get the highest care and the care that they so richly deserve. It’s something that is a top priority. … They get out of the military and they have nobody to talk to. It’s a very sad situation.”

Veterans Affairs Secretary David Shulkin pointed out that the 12-month period after leaving the service was the highest risk-period for suicide, noting that roughly 20 veterans a day commit suicide. He stated that was an “unacceptable number.” Shulkin added, “I’ve identified the issue of preventing veteran suicides as one of our top priorities.” Shulkin said only 40{75726800c12fe2ebed14402fd98444a61f7eda42751f92330bc58faf20bd8821} of military members have mental health coverage.

It’s tragic to think that so many veterans commit suicide. They are only human after all. To deal with the horrors of war is no easy task. These men and women deserve compassion, care, and treatment for their struggles.

President Trump is making sure that every last serviceman gets what he needs. If they are struggling when they get home, they deserve treatment. It’s a crime that it’s taken so long for this to happen.

Hopefully, this executive order will mark the start of new help for our veterans. Our men and women in uniform need to know that they will not be forgotten.
