Trump VP Report Sends Washington into High Alert – He’s Narrowed Down His Choice to Just 3 Names

As speculation swirls around the 2024 presidential race, all eyes are on former President Donald Trump as he contemplates his next running mate. With a base that remains fiercely loyal, Trump’s choice for vice president could significantly impact his campaign and the Republican Party’s future.

Trump’s potential running mate must meet several criteria: unwavering loyalty, a solid conservative track record, and the ability to energize voters. Trump could pick someone outside the GOP, to pull in must-have moderate votes.

Many names have floated around. Those include Florida Gov. DeSantis, Sen. Tim Scott, Sen. J D Vance, and other rising stars within the party. Notably missing from the speculation have been Trump’s former vice president Mike Pence and his formerly bitter rival, Nikki Haley. Now, his campaign has made a big announcement.

From The Washington Examiner:
Former President Donald Trump is expected to announce his running mate in the next week or so ahead of the Republican National Convention.

The campaign has largely dismissed early reporting and speculation on who Trump will tap as his vice president. The primary candidates for the VP slot are Sens. J.D. Vance (R-OH) and Marco Rubio (R-FL), and Gov. Doug Burgum (R-ND), according to the Washington Post…

Trump is set to hold two rallies this week; one on Tuesday in Miami, Florida, and the other next weekend in Butler, Pennsylvania.

Trump’s campaign announced it would hold an event to announce his running mate. It will be held a week before the Republican National Convention. According to some, he has narrowed his shortlist to just three names. This might come as a surprise to some supporters, as Trump just recently suggested he has “made up his mind” on just one candidate.

The media has been constantly contacting several Republicans. But so far, nobody has been dropping any hints as to whether Trump contacted them. Many think the three could be Sen. Vance, Sen. Rubio, and Gov. Doug Burgum. But none of these men have leaked any clues about their future with Trump’s campaign.

Doug Burgum might be the safest of these picks since Trump is trying to lay low and keep the attention focused on Biden’s disasters. Vance would attract more attention, but he’s a powerful proponent of conservative policies. But Rubio might be considered the frontrunner with his Latino connections and experience in D.C.

The only problem for Rubio? He would have to move out of Florida and take residence in another state in order for Trump to accept Florida’s electors. Why? The Constitution stipulates that the President and Vice-President cannot reside in the same state.

But it looks like Trump may hold off even longer to announce his Vice-President, possibly waiting until the final day of the convention to do so. According to this recently released flyer, has made very clear when we will finally know who his VP is:

The former president is known for his love of suspense. He has been teasing his 2024 running for some time, building anticipation among supporters. No doubt, this person will be a key player for the rest of the campaign—working overtime to help clinch the election for the Republican. And we will finally know very soon.

Who do you think Donald Trump will pick as his running mate?

Key Takeaways:

  • Donald Trump will announce his running mate in an upcoming event.
  • The event will be held about a week before the Republican National Convention.
  • According to reports, he has narrowed his list down to just three names.
