Trump Admits He Made 1 Mistake – As President, Donald Says This Was “Probably” a Blunder

What’s Happening:

Hiring this man may be the biggest mistake of his presidency. This one pick for a powerful office has fueled controversies across the country. And the president knows there have been consequences since he selected someone who was praised throughout Washington, D.C.

Former President Donald Trump for decades has been able to hire people to fill key positions in his successful business and political endeavors. But in this case, he clearly has second thoughts about the person he appointed to such a powerful federal agency.

From the Daily Caller:

Former President Donald Trump admitted it was probably wrong to hire FBI Director Christopher Wray during an exclusive Sunday interview with Fox Business’ Maria Bartiromo.

“Yeah, sadly, it probably was,” Trump responded.

Wray’s tenure at the FBI has wreaked havoc on the nation from controversies that include alleged targeting of conservatives and traditional Catholics. Trump appointed Wray on the recommendation of former New Jersey Gov. and Republican presidential candidate Chris Christie.

One of the criticisms against Trump is that he is too trusting of the Washington, D.C., establishment. His nominations for key cabinet positions and heads of federal agencies came from people he expected to guide him with his ideals and intentions in mind. Some people, like Christie, didn’t truly align with Trump’s plans.

Trump still holds Christie responsible for the failure of Wray’s recommendation.

From the Daily Caller:

“You know, he was recommended very strongly by Chris Christie who’s, you know, a sad case. I mean, I watch him, he’s a sad case,” Trump said. “Chris is — he’s sad.”

This is classic Trump style of stating the obvious about an opponent and repeating the criticism to make sure it sinks in. Christie, now in what will likely be his second failed presidential campaign, keeps attacking the former president with false statements of fact.

It’s comical how this confrontation with Christie is panning out. No matter how loud Christie screams about Trump, his pandering to liberals bounces off Trump like an annoying fly. Christie will likely poll at below 5% the rest of the primary cycle and go back to pandering to his leftist cronies on mainstream media outlets when he loses again.

As for Wray, this appointment was a mistake that Trump admits wasn’t the best selection of his presidency. This shows that, despite constant criticism for the current administration and its leftist allies, Trump has publicly displayed his capacity to adapt and improve.

That one change alone in the former president should scare his political opponents. Trump knows the D.C. game now, and he’s fighting for a second term. Trump will be more qualified this time around to drain the swamp.
