Trump Shooting Investigation Task Force Orders Secret Service and FBI to Cough Up Evidence

It’s been one month since an assassination attempt was made on the life of Donald Trump. This was the first assassination attempt on the life of a current or former president in over forty years.

Despite this, the American people have been given few answers as to how this could have happened in the weeks since. Thankfully, a House task force is finally trying to get to the bottom of this assassination attempt.

On Monday, this task force requested documents and briefings from top Justice Department and Homeland Security officials. We can only hope that this will provide more answers as to how this assassination attempt was able to take place.

From The Daily Wire:
Task force chair Mike Kelly (R-PA) and ranking member Jason Crow (D-CO) sent letters to Attorney General Merrick Garland, FBI Director Christopher Wray, Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, and Acting Secret Service Director Ronald Rowe demanding all documents related to the assassination attempt. They requested that the departments set up briefings with the task force by August 16 to coordinate the investigation.

The letters, obtained by Punch Bowl News, request that the officials “produce documents and information directly to the Task Force from this point forward, including any documents and information that are in process in response to pending requests.”

The task force was established last month with seven Republicans and six Democrats. Several committees in both the House and Senate have already begun looking into the attack that left Trump and two of his supporters injured and one rally attendee dead.

Questions Increase Over Security Failures

This comes as questions are mounting over the security failures that made this assassination attempt possible. It continues to be disturbing that 19-year-old gunman Thomas Matthew Crooks was able to outsmart the U.S. Secret Service enough to even make this assassination attempt happen.

It’s previously been reported that Crooks was identified by law enforcement as a suspicious person at Trump’s Pennsylvania rally a full hour before he took his first shot. Despite this, Crooks was still able to scale a nearby rooftop and nearly kill a former president.

In the weeks since this assassination attempt took place, Democrats and the mainstream media have been working overtime to pretend as if it never happened. They’d prefer you forget that Trump was nearly killed. Instead, they want you to focus on their efforts to fawn over his new opponent, Kamala Harris.

Unfortunately for them, however, most Americans aren’t nearly as dumb as they think we are. We aren’t about to let this go until we get answers as to how this assassination attempt on Trump’s life was able to take place. Here’s hoping that the House task force investigating this assassination attempt gets the answers that this country desperately deserves.

Key Takeaways:

  • House task force demands answers on Trump assassination attempt.
  • One month later, we still have few answers about the security failures that led to it.
  • Democrats would prefer Americans forget that the assassination attempt ever happened.
