Trump’s Fate Decided by Big Blue State – This Decision Just Shook Up the 2024 Election

What’s Happening:

In light of four indictments by Democrat prosecutors, some figures have tried to block Trump’s GOP nomination. In numerous states, individuals and some officials have tried to find means to remove Trump’s name from the Republican primary ballot. Some have cited the 14th Amendment, which was passed to bar Confederate officers from running for office.

Several anti-Trump Republicans actually moved to block him in a top primary state. It appears they hoped they could stop Trump from winning this state, and thus derail his campaign momentum. The top election official of this blue state issued a press conference to discuss the controversy. And it has resulted in a big Trump win.

From Fox News:

The top election official in New Hampshire says he won’t invoke the 14th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution in order to block former President Donald Trump from the ballot…

At the news conference at the state house in Concord… [Secretary of State Dave] Scanlan said that as long as Trump “submits his declaration of candidacy and signs it under the penalties of perjury, pays the $1,000 filing fee, his name will appear on the presidential primary ballot.”

A former Trump ally, Bryant Messner, tried to get the former president’s name removed from the New Hampshire GOP primary ballot. He was joined by John Anthony Castro, a Texan running for president, who filed his own lawsuit in New Hampshire against Trump.

But the secretary of state refused to even consider removing Trump’s name from the ballot. Dave Scanlan explained that there is nothing in New Hampshire law that allows a candidate to be removed from the ballots using the 14th Amendment. He also stated that the 14th Amendment says nothing about barring someone from participating in the delegate selection process.

This is just one of several attempts made recently by Trump opponents to remove him from ballots. In other states, attempts have failed, thanks to pushback from voters or other challenges. The 14th Amendment has been only a few times in American history.

Experts question if the amendment can be used against Trump. If challenges do persist, the former president might resort to legal action to ensure his name ends up on primary ballots. Some have suggested that the issue might only be settled by a Supreme Court decision.

Key Takeaways:

  • New Hampshire’s secretary of state rejected calls to remove Trump from primary ballots.
  • Democrats and anti-Trumpers have tried to use the 14th Amendment to bar Trump from running.
  • Secretary Scanlan explained that the 14th Amendment says nothing about the primary process, nor does New Hampshire law say anything about it.
