Trump Announces Executive Order – Protects Top Constitutional Right

Democrats thought they took this right away – but Donald is giving it back.

President Trump doesn’t take his presidential power lightly.

He reserves his executive orders for the most important causes – and this one is definitely needed.

College campuses are violating 1st Amendment rights because Democrats don’t want to hear opposing opinions that violate their safe spaces.

“Safe spaces” aren’t a right, but free speech is. Ben Shapiro and Condoleezza Rice were uninvited from giving speeches at liberal schools, and conservative students have been hounded for speaking their minds.

But President Trump is hitting these schools where it hurts – their pocketbooks.

From The Hill:

President Trump announced Saturday he intends to sign an executive order mandating colleges and universities take steps to guarantee free speech to attain federal research grants.

“Today I’m proud to announce that I will be very soon signing an executive order requiring colleges and universities to support free speech if they want federal research grants.”

If schools keep up their behavior, Trump is going to pull taxpayer dollars from them. That should get them in line real quick.

Colleges were once places where students could freely discuss ideas to help shape their worldview. But not anymore, except for a few places (like Hillsdale College).

Last month, a student at UC Berkeley went after conservative activist Hayden Williams.

The university was seemingly reluctant to track down the student and closed the investigation before he was found.

But after pressure from conservative groups, Berkeley was forced to reopen the investigation, and the student was finally caught.

President Trump praised Williams for his bravery at his CPAC speech and promised to protect the rights of activists like him on college campuses.

“If they want our dollars, and we give it to them by the billions, they’ve got to allow people like Hayden and many other great young people and old people to speak. Free speech. If they don’t, it will be very costly,” Trump said.
