Trump Just Eliminated 1 Top VP Pick – But Then He Quickly Adds Another Option

The Republican primaries continue this week. Voters from early primary states will be deciding who they want to run for president. Donald Trump is the undisputed frontrunner, who swept the Iowa primaries in a historic victory.

Many supporters have looked to Trump for details about a possible second term. Trump has made a number of issues his top priority, including the border and the economy.

He is also dropping hints about his next running mate. The former president has not revealed who his final pick is. But he has added a few names to his “shortlist” and announced who is definitely not on it.

From Fox News:
Former President Donald Trump told supporters in the final days ahead of the New Hampshire primary that he likely will not choose 2024 Republican nomination rival Nikki Haley as his running mate…

Some potential Vice President picks are former primary candidate and South Carolina Senator Tim Scott, New York House Rep Elise Stefanik, Senator J.D. Vance of Ohio, South Carolina House Rep Nancy Mace, South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem, and Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders.

Trump announced that, among the people he is considering for vice president, Nikki Haley is not one of them. He said that his former UN ambassador was not “presidential timber.” He said that she’s “not going to be chosen” for his vice president.

Haley and Trump have engaged in an ugly, intense political battle. Trump has been merciless in attacking her, going as far as to call her a “globalist” and Democrat ally. Haley, in recent months, has upped her attacks against the former president as well.

There are plenty of names floating around as possible Trump running mate picks. Some include a few rivals like Sen. Tim Scott. Recently, Trump has revealed he has already picked his running mate. This was before the Iowa primaries were even held.

It’s unknown whom he has chosen to run with him. But there is a good chance it will not be someone he’s run against in the primaries. Trump, a master of suspense, will likely pick someone who will surprise—and excite—his voter base.

Key Takeaways:

  • Donald Trump announced he was not going to pick Nikki Haley as his running mate.
  • Trump said that his former White House staffer was “not presidential timber.”
  • Speculation abounds over Trump’s final VP pick; he has not yet announced it to the public.
