Former President Trump continues to enjoy a massive lead in the GOP primaries. Last weekend, he appeared in New Hampshire for a rally.

Trump enjoys the endorsement of the state’s largest coalition of conservative activists. He also gained the endorsement of ten New Hampshire officials.

During his speech, he issued a withering rebuke of Biden’s foreign policy, which appears to have spread chaos around the globe. And Trump made a shocking vow. He will do this before he enters office.

Trump then made an incredibly bold promise. “Before I even arrive at the Oval Office, shortly after I win the presidency, I will have the horrible war between Russia and Ukraine settled.” He has said that he would be able to end this conflict, and here he promised an even better potentiality.

During his latest rally in New Hampshire, Trump vowed to end the ongoing war in Ukraine. In fact, he claimed he would be able to end the war before he returned to the Oval Office. The former president stated he’d end the conflict “shortly after” he won the election.

Trump did not appear to elaborate on this promise. If he wins the election next year, he will not become president until January 2025. But as “President-Elect” he might have enough influence to coerce world leaders into action.

But how that could result in the end of a devastating war is unclear. President Biden has apparently offered no promise of ending the war. Instead, he’s been adamant about supplying Ukraine with weapons and equipment, which has only served to prolong the fighting.

It is possible Trump could tell Ukraine he would no longer send weapons. Or, he might use his clout against Russia, to convince it to withdraw its troops. Until he is reinstalled, there will not be any legal means by which he could negotiate a truce.

But this promise no doubt will inspire his supporters. Trump backers have stood by Trump even during the dark days following the 2020 Election. Despite endless negative coverage, four criminal trials, and numerous attacks from the left, Trump supporters appear unwavering in their allegiance to the former president.
