Top Union Accuses DNC, Claims Democrats Are Protecting Large Corporations

Democrats have long touted themselves as the champions of labor unions, promising to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with workers against corporate interests. But their actions often tell a different story when push comes to shove. Despite their pledges to protect and empower unions, Democrats have repeatedly failed to deliver meaningful support.

This betrayal hasn’t gone unnoticed by union leaders, who are increasingly frustrated with the party’s empty promises.

Take, for example, the recent snub of Teamsters President Sean O’Brien by the Democratic National Committee. Despite being a prominent voice for labor, O’Brien was left out of the DNC’s convention. This kind of behavior highlights a growing disconnect between Democrats and the very unions they claim to support. And O’Brien is revealing why they snubbed him.

From The Post Millennial:
International Brotherhood of Teamsters President Sean O’Brien on Wednesday accused the Democratic National Committee of snubbing him by not allowing him to speak at their convention in order to protect “corporate elitists.”…

“And you know, there’s relationships there at the DNC that maybe they didn’t want me to speak there because I would’ve talked to that same group,” he continued. “I would’ve exposed those same corporate elitists who attack us every single day.”

Now, if you’re thinking O’Brien’s just another union boss whining about being left out, think again. This is the same guy who stood at the Republican National Convention (RNC) in Milwaukee and called former President Donald Trump “one tough SOB.” Yeah, he went there. So, why wouldn’t the DNC want a guy like that on their stage? Well, O’Brien has a theory, and it’s dripping with the kind of irony that makes you smirk and shake your head.

The Corporate Elitist Conundrum

O’Brien told Fox News’s Neil Cavuto that he specifically asked to speak at the DNC’s convention in Chicago. But, as of now, crickets. The silence is deafening, and O’Brien isn’t buying that it’s just an oversight. He suspects it’s all about protecting the DNC’s cozy relationships with—you guessed it—corporate elitists.

You see, at the RNC, O’Brien didn’t hold back. He called out big-name companies like Uber, Lyft, and Amazon. These are the same companies that, surprise, surprise, write big fat checks to political campaigns. Sure, they might fill the coffers for Republicans, but they’re also lining the pockets of Democrats. So, O’Brien figures his tough talk didn’t exactly endear him to the folks who call the shots at the DNC.

Cuomo Fires Back

O’Brien wasn’t the only one who noticed the problem. Former CNN host Chris Cuomo is echoing O’Brien’s sentiments. The left doesn’t want people to know about this.

From The Hill:
NewsNation host Chris Cuomo tore into what he described Wednesday as corporate influence at the Democratic National Convention and in party politics more generally.

“Why do you think I’m on the floor? NewsNation is not a broke company. Nexstar is a massive organization, we are corporate media,” he continued. “We don’t have one of those boxes because that’s the game. You pay to play.”

The DNC has some explaining to do—or at least a few more invitations to send out.

Key Takeaways:

  • Teamsters President Sean O’Brien accuses the DNC of snubbing him to protect corporate donors.
  • O’Brien called out big corporations during his speech at the Republican National Convention.
  • News host Chris Cuomo also exposed how corporations are influencing the Democratic Party.
