Top Democrat Makes Bizarre Moon Comment – You’ll Never Guess What She Says It’s “Made Of”

This week, millions of Americans had the opportunity to watch the rare total eclipse of the Sun. The event won’t happen again for years, giving people a special experience. That includes many students, who had the chance to learn more about the Solar System through this event.

Except at one school. Democrat congresswoman from Texas, Sheila Jackson-Lee, was a special guest at an eclipse viewing in Houston.

As expected, the school gave her a chance to speak before the event. And this Democrat, who makes decisions on legislation, gave her “scientific” views on the earth’s moon. To the shock of everyone there, she revealed how little she knows about basic facts.

From Daily Wire:
Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-TX) told teenagers at an eclipse-viewing event on Monday that the moon was made up of “gases” — and despite that, she wanted to be among the first who had a chance to live there…

“You’ve heard the word ‘full moon.’ Sometimes you need to take the opportunity just to come out and see a full moon is that complete rounded circle, which is made up mostly of gases,” Jackson Lee began. “And that’s why the question is why or how could we as humans live on the moon? Are the gases such that we could do that?”

In a speech that made Joe Biden sound like Neil deGrasse Tyson, Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee rambled about the moon during an eclipse event. While speaking to students, the congresswoman claimed the moon was made of gas.

She then talked about NASA going back to the moon soon and the prospect of humans living on the moon. Jackson Lee also claimed that the moon gave off “unique light and energy.” She also called the moon “another planet.”

The congresswoman did not appear to understand why the eclipse was happening. She claimed the moon will be “the closest distance” to the Earth in 20 years. And, because of that, “they will shut the light down.”

Uh… you can explain to me what she was saying…

It is unknown if any of the educators present corrected the congresswoman—or were too cowardly to say anything. Some might question how a woman with such a poor understanding of basic scientific facts has the clout to decide laws that affect the entire country.

And to think… Democrats say Republicans are ignorant of science!

Key Takeaways:

  • Sheila Jackson Lee made bizarre comments about the moon.
  • She claimed the moon was made of gas and was “another planet.”
  • The Democrat was speaking before students during the eclipse.
