Tim Walz Makes Eyebrow-Raising Debate Gaffe, Has Become “Friends” with About School Shooters

The Minnesota Governor Tim Walz (D) took on Senator JD Vance (R-OH) last night in the vice presidential debate. Unfortunately for Walz, he suffered a brutal gaffe during this debate that was nothing short of humiliating.

After four years of the seemingly senile Joe Biden being in office, Americans are used to seeing embarrassing gaffes from Democrat politicians. The mistake Walz made last night, however, put many of Biden’s ridiculous gaffes to shame.

Indeed, Walz shocked everyone when he boasted that he has become “friends” with school shooters. He said this after he was asked how he changed his mind about banning “assault weapons” over the course of his career.

From The New York Post:
“I sat in that office with those Sandy Hook parents. I’ve become friends with school shooters. I’ve seen it,” Walz said.

Pollsters, pundits and politicians immediately panned Walz for the embarrassing gaffe.

“’I’ve become friends with school shooters’ may be the worst line in any 2024 debate,” said political pollster and consultant Frank Luntz.

The former President Donald Trump got in on the action as well by posting a Trump-Vance 2024 sign on his Truth Social platform.

“Not friends with school shooters,” he wrote underneath it.

Walz Gets Chance To Correct Himself – Fails Miserably

It’s clear that Walz misspoke with this comment. However, if a Republican made this kind of gaffe, the mainstream media would undoubtedly have no mercy on them. Luckily for Walz, he’s a Democrat, so the media gave him the chance to correct his mistake. Sadly for Walz and those who support him, he only ended up dropping the ball once again.

From Trending Politics:
Another reporter then asked him to explain what he meant by saying he had “become friends with” school shooters. “Governor, you said you’d become friends with school shooters during the debate. Can you clarify what you meant on that?” the reporter asked.

While he clearly heard the question, Walz refused to turn around or answer the question.

“Can you clarify what you meant when you said you’d be friends with school shooters?” shouted another reporter, once again failing to get an answer from the Democratic Party nominee.

Ouch, now that’s what we call a fail!

As soon as last night’s debate began, it was clear that Walz was incredibly nervous. In contrast, Vance appeared to be sure of himself throughout the debate. This paid off for him in the end, as even the super-liberal New York Times could not deny that Vance was the clear victor of the night.

Perhaps Walz was nervous heading into this debate because of the various lies that he’s been caught in over the past few weeks. He lied about his military service, making misleading comments about his time serving in the National Guard. Walz also falsely claimed to be in China during the Tiananmen Square protests in 1989, when this actually wasn’t the case at all.

It seems that Walz is becoming quite a liability to Kamala’s campaign. Given how tight this race is, perhaps Walz’s slip-ups will be enough to cost Harris the election and put Donald Trump back in the White House where he belongs!

Key Takeaways:

  • Walz says he’s “friends with school shooters” during the debate.
  • Walz doesn’t correct his mistake when given the chance.
  • Even the New York Times has admitted that Vance won the debate.
