Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is one of the most visible Republican leaders in the country today. According to most polls, he’s running second only to former President Donald Trump.
This makes him a hot target for the left, which is probably why a certain far-left TV show wanted to get him on the air. “The View” did invite the Florida leader, saying they’d be “honored” to have him.
But after the slew of insults they threw his way, DeSantis isn’t about to oblige.
“The View” is infamous for trashing just about any right-wing politician or personality, and they haven’t held back in regards to the Florida Governor. It’s likely they wouldn’t hold back if he was on the show, either.
This is precisely why DeSantis’ office has refused the invitation.
They question the motives behind it, and in a fiery reply sent back to the show, the Governor’s press secretary Bryan Griffin cited several attacks against DeSantis.
In an email he sent this week, Griffin writes (via The Daily Caller):
Thanks for the invite. I understand that you are sending this request on behalf of your team.
But are the hosts of the View really interested in hearing from Governor DeSantis about all of the important work he is doing on behalf of Floridians to protect their health and livelihoods, to stand up for parents and children, and to defend freedom?
Which of the below statements from the hosts of the View do you recommend our team consider when deciding if the interview will be a genuine pursuit of truth? Or worth the time?…We will pass on this offer.

Griffin specifically quoted co-host Joy Behar for calling Gov. DeSantis a “negligent, homicidal sociopath” in August 2021, and co-host Sunny Hostin calling him a “fascist and a bigot” in June of this year.
Then there are the comments from co-host Ana Navarro, who said back in April that the Florida leader’s policies are “anti-black,” “anti-gay,” and “anti-American.”
Given all this, it’s no surprise that DeSantis didn’t accept the offer. It’s more than likely he would’ve faced similar accusations, and his team felt like he was being set up for an all-out attack on air.
DeSantis’ press secretary, Christina Pushaw, loved the response, saying nothing infuriates liberals more than “seeing their own insane words repeated back to them in black and white”:
Perfect. There is nothing that infuriates liberals more than seeing their own insane words repeated back to them in black and white.

Recently, there were calls for Whoopi Goldberg to step down as a member of “The View,” as some said she’d simply crossed the line too many times.
That’s a common claim from right-wing individuals due to the far-left views frequently extolled on the show. And it isn’t likely to be a productive interview if Gov. DeSantis went in front of them.
However, if DeSantis happens to win the Republican nomination for President in 2024, those liberal ladies will have plenty more opportunity to go after him.
- Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis refused an invitation to appear on “The View.”
- His office cited numerous insults and attacks on DeSantis, including co-hosts of the show calling him “negligent,” “fascist,” “bigot,” and “homicidal sociopath.”
- DeSantis’ press secretary Christina Pushaw applauded the reply, calling it “perfect.”
