Ted Cruz Calls Out Blatant Twitter Censorship – He Announces Plans To Put Them On The Stand

As you’ve probably heard by now, a new story was published yesterday by the New York Post which alleged business involvement from Hunter Biden and foreign interests in Ukraine.

After the story was published and posted, Twitter decided that it was unable to verify the authenticity of the claims made in the article.

So what did they do? They restricted anyone from posting the link on Twitter and even went so far as to suspend the accounts of several prominent figures on the right, including the Trump campaign. As you might have guessed, that wasn’t going to fly with our senators.

Texas Senator Ted Cruz was not happy about this and decided to take a firm stand against the social media giant and its controversial CEO: Jack Dorsey.

In a statement to host Harris Faulkner, Senator Cruz made his feelings very clear on the subject:

“Let me be very clear, Twitter is interfering in this election. They are censoring the press,” Cruz said, and further explained, “silencing the media is a direct violation of the principles of the First Amendment.”

Very strong words from Cruz who is also on the Senate Judiciary Committee, but honestly, can you blame him?

Time and time again, people have made allegations against President Trump based on anonymous sources, or obtained unpublished information like his tax returns. What makes this situation any different?

I understand that while Twitter cannot instantly verify the authenticity of the emails, or the claims made by the NY Post, does that mean they should instantly become the arbiter of Truth on the internet?

Do we really live in a world where Twitter has to say its OK before I am allowed to post something?

As you might imagine, President Trump has plenty to say on the subject as well. Check out what he wrote just earlier today:

“So terrible that…Twitter took down the story of “Smoking Gun” emails related to Sleepy Joe Biden and his son, Hunter, in the @NYPost. It is only the beginning for them. There is nothing worse than a corrupt politician. REPEAL SECTION 230!!!”

I think Trump is spot on here.

This level of censorship seems extremely biased in how its applied and could easily be used to influence public opinion on a topic based simply on the decision from a social media company like Twitter.
Luckily, we have politicians on the right who are willing to stand up for our rights and free speech in America and won’t let them get away with this.

After Senator Cruz slammed Twitter’s censorship of the story, he took things even farther. Twitter might be in serious trouble now.

Check this out:

Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey will be subpoenaed by Senate Republicans next week and questioned on why the social media company blocked two New York Post articles alleging Hunter Biden corruption while his father was vice president, Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, told “Outnumbered Overtime” Thursday.

Boom! I love to see consequences for unjust actions.
Does Jack Dorsey really think he can just become the decider of truth on the internet and not have serious repercussions? I hope that he realizes if you poke the sleeping giant one too many times, eventually it will wake up. And it won’t be happy.

Good luck on your Senate Judiciary subpoena Jack, you’re gonna need all the help you can get!

Do you think Twitter should be held accountable?

Please help spread this article around and get the word out there. We need as many eyes on this as possible!
