Ted Cruz Demands Biden Dismantle “Parallel Immigration System” Unapproved by Congress

Ted Cruz (R-TX) is leading the charge among a group of senators who are demanding that Joe Biden’s administration end a “fundamentally-flawed” program. Cruz went so far as to claim that the Biden administration has created a “parallel immigration system without congressional approval.”

The Biden administration recently restarted this controversial program despite discoveries of alleged fraud. This program allows 30,000 people to immigrate to the U.S. each month from Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua, and Venezuela.

Once in the states, those who take part in the program are given a two-year work permit. However, the Fraud Detection and National Security Directorate found over the summer that around 3,000 sponsors in the program had filed more than 100,000 forms. In another disturbing twist, it was discovered that some of the sponsors were using phone numbers that belonged to dead people. They were also reportedly using addresses of storage units and fake zip codes.

Biden’s DHS paused CHNV back in July “out of an abundance of caution.” At the time, they promised “additional vetting” in the future. Just six weeks later, however, the Biden administration quietly restarted CHNV.

Cruz Sends Letter To Biden Admin

In a letter that was sent to Attorney General Merrick Garland and Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, Cruz and his fellow senators demanded that the Biden administration terminate the “ineffective, unlawful, and hazardous” CHNV program “immediately.”

From The Blaze:
This fundamentally-flawed program must be permanently dismantled. The program has not only facilitated widespread fraud, but has also exposed serious vulnerabilities in our immigration system, leading to dire consequences for public safety. The tragic sexual assault and murder of 12-year-old Jocelyn Nungaray by two Venezuelan illegal aliens indicates the dangers posed by the Biden-Harris administration’s immigration policies.”

According to the senators, the program is unlawful and has “pervasive failure in oversight.”

“By establishing a categorical program based on nationality, the Biden administration created a parallel immigration system without congressional approval,” the senators stated.

“There have been many instances of crimes, such as sexual assault, rape, and murder committed by CHNV participants,” they noted. “Scammers have been charging up to $5,000 for sponsorship, which underscores the program’s vulnerability to exploitation by traffickers and other malicious actors.”

You might recall that Haitian immigration came up during last night’s debate. Indeed, Donald Trump made a number of claims about the chaos that has allegedly ensued thanks to Haitian immigrants in Springfield, Ohio.

It’s nothing short of disturbing that this program was stopped because of what appears to be massive fraud, only to be quietly restarted just a few weeks later. Why is the Biden administration in such a rush to get CHNV off the ground? After all, it seems that such blatant fraud warrants more than just a few weeks of the program being paused. Instead of restarting it so fast, officials should be taking time to consider if CHNV should even continue.

It sadly comes as no surprise that the Biden administration is behind such a shady program. They have spent years prioritizing illegal aliens over the well-being and safety of American people. In fact, while the Biden administration is focused on bringing these foreign nationals to the U.S., millions of real Americans are struggling just to put food on the table thanks to the current president’s failed policies.

We applaud Cruz and his fellow senators for having the guts to call out the Biden administration for this. They need to be held accountable, and CHNV needs to end immediately.

Key Takeaways:

  • Cruz demands Biden end the “fundamentally-flawed” CHNV program.
  • Massive fraud was found in CHNV program, yet Biden quietly restarted it.
  • Haitian immigration was a hot topic in last night’s debate.
