The Supreme Court just announced they will be holding a teleconference next month to hear oral arguments on a case involving President Trump as well as a case involving how our voting system works.
Due to the Coronavirus, many companies around the world have had to adapt how they operate on a day to day basis in order to continue working amid the outbreak, and it looks like the Supreme Court is following suit.

Why it’s important:
These two cases will have large impacts on President Trump’s 2020 election.
The first case is one regarding Trump’s financial records to determine what should and shouldn’t be released. Many Democrats want Trump to be forced to release his private financial documents so they can scour through them and see if they can find anything amiss.
Should this be allowed this close to the November election, it could have serious impacts on the campaign.
The second case is regarding our electoral college system.
The Supreme Court will hear oral arguments over whether electoral college electors are free to break from their pledge to support the candidate who wins the most votes in their state.
What this is essentially determining is for example if your state votes for Trump, does the electoral college elector have the ability to give his vote for anyone else besides Trump. Are they able to vote differently than the state popular vote has decided? That’s what the Supreme Court is going to figure out.
Both of these could have major impacts come November election.
