It’s no secret that Democrats regularly seek ways to chip at our Second Amendment. But things might be turning against them.
In many liberal-run states, they have “gun control laws” that restrict Americans’ right to use a firearm.
Democrats claim it reduces gun violence. But the states with the worst gun crime often have the strictest gun laws.
But 25 states, including Texas, are urging the Supreme Court to overturn one of the most restrictive laws out there.
From The Epoch Times:
Texas has joined a coalition of what is now 25 states urging the U.S. Supreme Court to repeal a New Jersey law banning the possession of firearms with magazines that hold more than 10 bullets, arguing the prohibition violates the Second Amendment and puts law-abiding citizens less able to defend themselves against dangerous criminals.
Mirroring an agenda from Joe Biden, New Jersey passed a law that prevents residents from owning magazines that hold more than 10 bullets.
Democrats claim this is to prevent criminals from going on shooting sprees. But they seem to forget that criminals don’t follow gun laws.
All this law does is put a law-abiding citizen at a disadvantage. If the worst were to happen and a resident had to defend themselves, they would have a harder time thanks to this law.
Twenty-five states including Texas have appealed to the Supreme Court to take a look at this law.
Similar laws are on the books in other blue states. And how the Supreme Court rules could impact how other states approach gun control.
Needless to say, if the court rules that a magazine-limit law is unconstitutional, similar laws in other states would be null and void.
But if the court decides that the law is allowable, it might empower more states to push harsh restrictions.
It seems Texas and other state AGs believe it is worth the risk. They don’t want New Jersey and other blue states to clamp down on one of our most important rights.
Do you stand with these states for your 2nd Amendment rights?
- Twenty-five states including Texas are urging the Supreme Court to overturn an NJ gun control law.
- The law outlaws magazines that hold more than 10 rounds.
