The Squad Just Got a New Nickname from GOP Leader – And It Perfectly Describes Them

What’s Happening:

People who have fled tyrants and terrorism across the world are having trouble with the rampant attacks against Israel and the outpouring of support for those who killed more than 1,000 Israeli’s. U.S. cities and college campuses are crawling with antisemitic protesters who have denounced Israel’s response to terrorist attacks.

What has been striking is the number of people in Congress who don’t support Israel, a key U.S. ally in the Middle East. Some congressional representatives have been accused of antisemitism and they have failed to condemn Hamas terrorist acts.

Liberal members of the “Squad” have openly condemned Israel and one member, Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN), is being called out by the Republican wanting to take her seat in Congress. Dalia al-Aqidi (R-MN), a journalist by trade and an Iraqi Muslim immigrant who fled Saddam Hussein in 1993, has dubbed the Squad as the “Hamas caucus.”

From Fox News:
“Let me tell you, it’s not rocket science: You stand with your ally when in-need,” al-Aqidi said. “That’s Foreign Policy 101. And Ilhan Omar, my opponent, knows exactly who our allies are. Yet she chooses to stand with our enemies. That’s not the first time. That’s not the second time. She always does that.”

al-Aqidi faces an uphill battle in the deep-blue district centered around Minneapolis. The district has not elected a Republican in more than more than half a century. al-Aqidi is no fan of President Biden, but she believes in backing Israel as she is concerned that Palestinian civilians are in danger from Hamas.

“I am with the Palestinian people. I feel for the Palestinian people. But the victims are no victims for the U.S. nor Israel,” al-Aqidi said. “These are the victims of Hamas terrorists/the Islamic Jihad/Iran/Qatar (sic).”

The Republican candidate also took issue with Squad member Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) defending the use of the chant “from the river to the sea.” Tlaib claims it is a chant of support and not a call for death or hate.

Al-Aqidi disagreed, saying the chant essentially calls for the destruction of Israel because the “river” is the Jordan and the “sea” is the Mediterranean.

Key Takeaways:

  • Muslim immigrant who fled tyranny challenges “Squad” member for seat.
  • Republican Dalia al-Aqidi wants the Minnesota district to turn Red in 2024.
  • Al-Aqidi dubs “Squad” members with new nickname over Hamas stance.
