Leftists were hit hard this week. They have been spreading their radical ideology across the country and attacking the U.S. and Israel.
Much of the anti-Israel protesting was spawned on college campuses nationwide. Students have openly embraced the leftist mindset that ultimately supports terrorism.
That ideology took a hit when one of the high-profile members of the Democratic Party found herself answering questions about her child. The daughter of a member of “The Squad” was hauled off campus for her anti-Israel stance.
From Fox News:
The daughter of U.S. Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., was arrested Thursday at anti-Israel protests at Columbia University, law enforcement sources told Fox News.Isra Hirsi was in the custody of the New York Police Department and put into flex cuffs or zip ties and will face trespassing charges, according to sources. She was among more than 100 people issued a summons for trespassing, the NYPD said. She was released hours later.
Her arrest followed being suspended from Barnard College which is located near Columbia. She was involved in an unauthorized protest encampment on Columbia’s campus. Hirsi was defiant in her “solidarity with Palestinians.”
“Those of us in Gaza Solidarity Encampment will not be intimidated,” Hirsi posted on X. “We will stand resolute until our demands are met. our [sic] demands include divestment from companies complicit in genocide, transparency of @Columbia’s investments and FULL amnesty for all students facing repression.”
The protest at Columbia involved dozens of anti-Israel activists that started Wednesday morning. They created an encampment on the main lawn to protest the Israel-Hamas war. The protests escalated overnight with calls for intifada (rebellion) and the death of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Omar was on the offensive from her Capitol Hill seat on Wednesday when she questioned Columbian administrators during a congressional hearing. The session covered anti-Israel activism on the campus of the Ivy League school.
Omar tried to paint a picture of violence against the protesters when she described an alleged “attack” with a “toxic chemical substance” during the anti-Israel protest. Court documents revealed that the substance used was actually a non-toxic flatulence spray called “Liquid A—” and “Wet Farts.”
Barnard College stood its ground on suspending students participating in the encampment, according to The Daily Wire. The college released a statement that restrictions on access to certain outdoor spaces on campus and suspension of participating protest students will continue.
