What’s Happening:
For quite some time now, we’ve known that Chinese-own TikTok poses a major threat to the United States. The social network is owned by a company in China. And even the FBI has warned that China’s communist government is harvesting data from millions of Americans. This threat has spurred both Republicans and a few Democrats to confront the company.
But, oh wait, we have nothing to fear! Because a radical Democrat just said there is “no evidence” of danger!

On Thursday’s broadcast of NBC’s “MTP Now,” Rep. Jamaal Bowman (D-NY) claimed that there isn’t any evidence that TikTok poses a national security concern through Chinese espionage on the app, but there is a national security concern from “misinformation and the spreading of misinformation” on social media.
How silly of us! We shouldn’t be worried that a communist nation that denies civil rights to its own people is spying on us through an app used by millions of Americans. Nope, the real threat is Americans using their First Amendment right to spread “misinformation.”
How stupid does this guy think we are? Even Christopher Wray, the Director of the FBI, warned that China was using TikTok to spy on us. But we’re supposed to be more afraid that Americans can use free speech online?
On the same day this genius makes this claim, the CEO of TikTok comes clean.

On Thursday, TikTok CEO Shou Chew Florida admitted to Congresswoman Kat Cammack that the Chinese-owned social media service does access user data during a House Energy and Commerce Committee hearing.
“My colleague, Representative Lada, confirmed that your parent company ByteDance currently can access user data, yes?” Cammack asked. After Chew said “we have to be more specific” he said “Yes,” and added “some user data is public data.”
Oh, so there is evidence that China is using TikTok to spy on Americans because its CEO just admitted it! He tried to couch his answer by saying some data is “public data.” But that doesn’t mean anything. Some data is public data, but the data TikTok is accessing is private data stored on the users’ phones.
Every China-based company is controlled by the CCP. It’s a communist nation; there is no such thing as free enterprise. So if ByteDance has access to the data, so does the communist government.
Even one of Biden’s own officials acknowledged that China is using TikTok to harm American children.

Jen Easterly, the Director of the U.S. Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) pointed to the differences in TikTok’s American and Chinese versions and said she thinks the app “is part of a long-range strategy of, sadly, dumbing down the next generation and we are falling for it.”
Huh. So if even a Biden flunky knows TikTok is dangerous, why are we still using it?
