Seconds After Sports Team Insults America – They Get Perfectly Brutal Karma

College sports once was heralded as a place where fans could go to appreciate the youth of America presenting themselves as examples for others to follow. Teamwork, integrity, grit, and respect were all values other athletes and everyday Americans could look up to with each contest.

College athletics has devolved into a swamp of liberal expressions overshadowing the values Americans expect. Liberal media caters to any leftist expression while editing representation of American ideals.

The media couldn’t hide what happened during a high-profile game in the women’s college basketball tournament this week. One team stood proud before the country while another turned its back on the nation that provides them with all the freedoms they enjoy.

From Breitbart:
LSU’s women’s basketball team walked off the floor before the national anthem was played Monday night in their Elite Eight matchup against rival Iowa.

Iowa’s players stood respectfully for the anthem.

The result of the game was a grand statement for all who support the country. The Iowa Lady Hawkeyes tossed the defending national champion LSU Lady Tigers out of the tournament with a convincing 94-87 win. Iowa’s Caitlin Clark, who is headed for the WNBA, drained nine 3-pointers on her way to an impressive 41-12-7 stat line.

Fans were quick to point out the irony of how the LSU team acted and the results in the matchup.

“Iowa stood proud. LSU just got their ass beat. With the entire stadium cheering against them,” posted conservative influencer Benny Johnson on X. “Season over. Let this be a lesson to all players: the cringy, selfish woke athlete moment is OVER.”

LSU coach Kim Mulkey appeared to feign ignorance after the game about the afront her team presented before the nation. She said her team’s decision to leave the floor was not “intentional” and just part of her team’s “routine.” She added that she is unaware of when the anthem is played, despite being a coach for decades and a former college player.

Mulkey’s lame excuse didn’t jive with reports from local media that has followed the team all year. Sports reporter Chessa Bouche said, “LSU is never on the court for the National Anthem.”

It would appear that the LSU coach and players know exactly when the anthem is played, and they beat feet to avoid any patriotic participation. The Lady Tigers weren’t present for the anthem during last year’s national championship.

LSU isn’t the only women’s team visibly skipping out on the pre-game rendition of “The Star-Spangled Banner.” According to nola.com, neither USC nor UConn were present for the national anthem before their Elite Eight game Monday night.

This is a trend that needs to be confronted and discontinued, according to Louisiana Gov. Jeff Landry. He called on officials in his state to set a new standard for college athletics and promote a deeper respect for the nation.

“It is time that all college boards, including Regent, put a policy in place that student athletes be present for the national anthem or risk their athletic scholarship!” Landry posted on X. “This is a matter of respect that all collegiate coaches should instill.”

Key Takeaways:

  • The Iowa ladies basketball team stood proud and won big on the national stage.
  • The LSU ladies basketball team avoided the national anthem and lost big time.
  • Louisiana’s Republican governor called for respect from players or lose scholarships.
