Senate Gives Trump a Surprise Decision – Passes 1 Big Bill Donald Promoted

We all know that Donald Trump has long warned America about China’s growing influence. Americans have become increasingly worried about what the communist regime is up to. Those worries have only become worse under Joe Biden, whom many believe is in China’s pocket.

While in office, Trump pushed back on China’s influence, putting tariffs on Chinese-made products. He also mulled taking steps to limit China’s extraordinary influence over Americans.

Congress refused to cooperate with Trump on this major concern. He has continued to warn about the threat China poses to the country. But now, four years after he raised the alarm, the Senate has voted.

From The Post Millennial:
On Tuesday night, Senate approved a bill aimed at either prohibiting TikTok or compelling its sale, marking a significant rejection of the video-sharing platform’s Chinese ownership. This move comes after numerous unsuccessful efforts to address the purported national security concerns associated with the app over the years.

The Senate voted 79 to 18 in favor of the measure, which was included in a comprehensive package providing assistance to Israel, Ukraine, and Taiwan. This sends the proposal to President Biden for his signature, following the House’s approval on Saturday.

The Senate passed a bill, previously passed in the House, that will ban social app TikTok. The law, if signed by Joe Biden, will require China to sell the company not under the communist regime’s thumb. According to the bill’s language, ByteDance, which currently owns TikTok, will have 90 days to divest from the app or it will be banned in the U.S.

This has been a controversial bill, given what the federal government is trying to do. Congress is trying to exert power over a foreign business by threatening to exclude them from the U.S. market. It is likely ByteDance or others will oppose this bill in federal courts.

Yet many fear what kind of damage China can do to the U.S., through this social app. Reports claim that China has access to the personal data of millions of Americans, even those who do not use TikTok. The information China can gather on foreign nations through this app is unprecedented in world history.

Even Trump has expressed misgivings about the bill in its current form. He still calls for China to be held accountable, but he warned that other social networks pose a greater threat to free speech and our democracy.

Joe Biden has expressed his intent to sign the bill into law. How ByteDance will respond, however, remains to be seen.

Key Takeaways:

  • The Senate passed the TikTok ban bill.
  • If signed into law, it will require China to give up the social app.
  • Many have warned that China uses the app to gather data on Americans.
