Supreme Court Delivers 5-4 Election Decision to Uphold Election Integrity in Arizona

The Supreme Court just made a huge ruling on Thursday. It is being seen as a big win for Republicans everywhere. In a 5-4 vote, the Supreme Court handed a victory to Republicans who are fighting to enforce proof of citizenship when voting in Arizona.

Democrats have been trying to make it easier than ever for illegal aliens to vote in American elections. After alienating millions of American taxpayers with their failed woke policies, Democrats have resorted to trying to allow illegal immigrants to vote in a desperate attempt to stay in power.

Unfortunately for Arizona Democrats, however, the Supreme Court isn’t having any of it. Indeed, the highest court in the land was asked to allow enforcement of sections of Arizona law that require documented proof of citizenship to cast a ballot in the presidential election. This includes when voting by mail.

From Fox News:
The Republican Party of Arizona said on Aug. 15 that it had filed the emergency application pending appeal from the U.S. Court of Appeals Ninth Circuit “in support of HB 2492, our law requiring proof of citizenship to vote in presidential elections.” A federal judge had blocked enforcement of the law, which prompted the appeal to the high court for temporary relief.

“The Constitution gives states the power to set voter qualifications, and Arizona is leading the charge to ensure ONLY CITIZENS vote in our elections,” the Arizona GOP tweeted. “This case has the potential to prevent non-citizen voting once and for all, which should have been the case all along.”

An emergency application for stay by the Republican National Committee argues that voter integrity is a “problem” that’s gone unchecked, particularly with so many “illegal aliens” in the country.

Breaking Down The Ruling

In the Supreme Court ruling, Justice Thomas, Justice Alito and Justice Gorsuch would have granted the application in full. In contrast, the application would have been denied in full by Justice Sotomayor, Justice Kagan, Justice Barrett and Justice Jackson.

Meanwhile, used their deciding votes to provide a compromise of sorts.

However, it should be noted that the Supreme Court only partly granted the request from Republicans to make Arizona enforce measures requiring people to show proof of U.S. citizenship when registering to vote. The ruling will only allow one of three provisions of the state law to be enforced.

It should go without saying that American citizens should be the only ones voting in American elections. Anyone who is not a taxpaying citizen shouldn’t have the right to help decide who the next American president is.

Sadly, Democrats appear to want as many non-citizens as possible to vote. It’s sad that Democrat policies have been so bad that they have to resort to this just to have a chance of winning elections, but here we are.

While we’re glad that the Supreme Court made this ruling, it’s unfortunate that it’s only a partial victory for Republicans. As the election gets closer, we can only hope that Republicans step up their election integrity efforts and make it as difficult as possible for illegal aliens to vote.

Key Takeaways:

  • Supreme Court hands partial victory to Republicans.
  • These Republicans are fighting to enforce proof of citizenship when voting in Arizona.
  • Illegal aliens should not be allowed to vote in American elections.
