Democrats seemed unconcerned about the border crisis. That is, until Gov. Abbott started sending migrants their way. Democrat mayors of blue cities have panicked about the few thousand illegal aliens on their doorsteps.
They have demanded billions from the federal government to accommodate these invaders. And they are slashing budgets–for services meant for Americans–to provide for border jumpers.
One mayor in particular previously bragged about his city’s sanctuary status. The city vowed never to report illegal aliens arrested for crimes to ICE–who would deport them. Now, the liberal mayor is flip-flopping–to the outrage of migrants.

These laws shield aliens who broke the law from being handed over to ICE, as required by federal law.
If Adams has his way, at least illegals arrested for violent crimes might be referred to ICE. However, it is unclear if the current administration will proceed with deporting these aliens. Biden has allowed 7.2 million aliens to enter the country illegally. He has not appeared to deport any of them. Even if the mayor tries to get ICE to remove these criminals, he might be out of luck.
