If COVID taught Democrats anything, it’s that all they have to do to become tyrants is to declare an “emergency.” Governors turned themselves into dictators, locking people into their homes and ruining businesses because they were trying to “help” during a time of crisis. Even when legislatures tried to roll back the powers, governors refused to relinquish them.

Joe Biden did the same thing. He used the emergency declaration over the pandemic to funnel billions of dollars into the donor state’s hands. Biden fleeced billions from the American people and used practically none of it to battle the virus. Now, Democrats are demanding he do the same thing, over another “crisis.” But Republicans are moving to shut him down.

Republican Texas Rep. August Pfluger and West Virginia Sen. Shelley Moore Capito introduced legislation Monday morning aiming to preempt any possible attempt by President Joe Biden to use emergency powers to circumvent congressional checks on his administration’s sweeping climate agenda.

Republicans in Congress are putting forward a bill that will prevent Joe Biden from using an emergency declaration to grab power over the “climate crisis.” Democrats like Chuck Schumer have been urging Biden to abuse his emergency powers granted under the National Emergencies Act to claim climate change is an emergency.

That would give Biden the power to do nearly anything he wanted, without congressional approval. He could spend $1 trillion to “battle climate change” without proving the money was going to that cause.

Biden has already tried to rob us blind, using “climate change” as an excuse. He has pushed the Green New Deal to shut down our fossil fuel industry, funnel cash into liberal-owned companies’ hands, and ship cash to his overseas allies.

If he claimed climate change was a “national emergency” there would be no stopping him. He could shut down the auto industry, close gas stations, raise taxes to the moon, and close any business that isn’t “green” enough.

And Democrats want him to do this, so they can avoid having to work with Republicans in the House. Democrats will benefit too, because most of them are heavily invested in “green” technology. The more Biden throws our money to green companies, the richer these goons will get.

This bill could stop Biden from doing that. But it will have to pass both the House and Senate. That would require at least 60 votes in the Senate. And that won’t happen any time soon.
