Woke liberals have hit a new low in recent years as they’ve tried to make it easier than ever for children to get transgender surgical procedures. These surgeries can have irreversible side effects that will change the child’s life forever, but the left doesn’t care.

Now, Republicans are thankfully fighting back. Indeed, a new bill from Senator Roger Marshall (R-KS) is the stuff that nightmares are made of for woke Democrats.

Marshall’s bill would ban doctors from performing transgender procedures on children in the U.S. There’s no telling just how many lives this legislation could save.

Marshall put forth the “Safeguarding The Overall Protection of Minors Act’’ to block doctors from giving kids puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones, which can cause infertility, reduce bone density, and damage heart health. The legislation would also ban transgender surgeries for kids, including genital surgeries and removing the breasts of girls who identify as boys.

According to the text of the bill, doctors could be assessed a civil fine of up to $100,000 if they “knowingly perform, attempt to perform, conspire to perform, or provide a referral for any gender transition procedure on a minor.”

“Americans resoundingly rejected the Left’s dangerous transgender agenda. Let’s call it exactly what it is: child abuse,” Marshall, a doctor, said in a statement. “The days of demented doctors and activists getting rich off of mutilating, sterilizing, and castrating children are over.”

Not stopping there, Marshall proceeded to double down.

“Our legislation keeps children’s safety paramount by prohibiting anyone from performing, facilitating, or even conspiring to give these irreversible therapies and procedures to minors,” Marshall continued. “This bill is just the beginning of what’s to come with President Trump at the helm and our unwavering commitment to protecting children from transgender activists’ twisted and criminal agenda.”

Marshall’s bill would also enable any person who has had a gender procedure performed on them to sue in U.S. district court for proper relief. On top of that, it would allow the attorney general to set up a grant program for anyone who wants to undo the horrific impacts of transgender procedures.

Marshall presented this legislation the same day that lawyers representing Tennessee went before the Supreme Court to defend the state’s ban on transgender procedures for minors. While over two dozen states have put similar bans in place, Marshall’s state of Kansas has failed to do so. Earlier this year, the Kansas state House fell just two votes short of overriding Democratic Governor Laura Kelly’s veto of their bill.

Social media users have been quick to praise Marshall for his new legislation.

“Glad to see this common sense bill. There ought to be no Republicans opposing it,” one person commented. Another added, “Praying to God this bill is passed. Child mutilation has gone on far too long for America to do nothing about it.”

“The age should be 21,” a third user commented. “We don’t allow kids to drink until they are 21, and with very good data. This trans stuff is way worse than having a beer.”

If children are too young to drink alcohol or get tattoos, they’re also too young to decide to undergo a transgender surgical procedure that could negatively change their lives forever. Here’s hoping that this bill passes, and that this nonsense is banned once and for all!
