Red Governor Thwarts Progressive Plot – Signs Law to Protect Key American Freedom

President Biden’s administration has sought to channel funds into “woke” businesses. The government attempted to pressure investment firms into supporting companies aligned with progressive ideals such as environmentalism.

On the state level, governments have favored companies that use their influence to advance liberal agendas. That included doing business with groups that discriminate against Americans’ constitutional rights.

But in one red state, they passed a bill to shut this kind of thing down. A previous governor actually vetoed this bill in 2021. The newly-elected governor, however, vowed to set this right. And this week, he signed into law a bill that will ban the state from doing business with enemies of this right.

From Breitbart:
Louisiana Gov. Jeff Landry (R) signed legislation Tuesday that ends state business with financial companies that discriminate against firearm manufacturers and others in the gun industry…

“The Louisiana legislature passed the FIND Act in 2021, but it was vetoed by then-Governor John Bel Edwards. Today’s bill signing by Governor Landry demonstrates that elections have real consequences. By signing the FIND Act, Governor Landry is signaling to our industry that Louisiana is now a place where firearm industry members are welcomed with open arms.”

Gov. Landry of Louisiana signed a bill that bans the state from doing business with financial firms that refuse to work with gun makers and other companies within the gun industry. Radical anti-Second Amendment groups have lobbied banks and other companies to blacklist the NRA and gun manufacturers.

These were naked attempts to undermine advocacy for gun ownership in America. The long-term goal seemed to be to cripple the gun industry financially, so Americans would be unable to own firearms or be adequately trained in using them.

Louisiana’s state government will now refuse to work with financial institutions that embrace this progressive agenda. If a bank or company deliberately refuses to work with gun groups, they will not be able to partner with the state.

Other states have been passing similar bills aimed at protecting Americans’ constitutional rights. It seems the left is using banking and the financial district to push its ideology onto Americans. But more and more Republicans are fighting back.

Key Takeaways:

  • Landry of Louisiana banned the state from working with banks that discriminate against gun makers.
  • Progressives have pressured financial companies into backlisting pro-Second Amendment organizations.
  • Louisiana lawmakers passed this law in 2021, but it was vetoed by then-Gov. Bel Edwards.
