After Being Forced to Fly the ‘Progress Flag’ – This Christian Lifeguard Strikes Back in a Big Way

Conservatives across the country have been forced to endure the oppression of the left for far too long. Governmental institutions created laws catering to the “progressive” movement and then forced people who disagree to bow down to the laws or lose their jobs.

People are now taking a stand, especially those who see their religious beliefs being trampled by laws of leftists. The new response to leftist rule is to use the law against them.

These progressive laws should never bleed over into the lives of everyday people just trying to make a living. A Christian lifeguard is taking on the left and showing how oppressed Americans can be rescued from leftist oppression.

From Fox News:
A devout Christian lifeguard filed a lawsuit against Los Angeles County Fire Department, claiming the government’s requirement to fly the rainbow Progress Pride flag forced him to choose between his job and his faith.

“I felt like I was being targeted or entrapped by [Section] Chief [Arthur] Lester and my religious beliefs were not being taken seriously,” Captain Jeffrey Little wrote in a complaint to the county, which was included in the suit. “He did not notify me of this change and gave me no heads up that the flags would be flying.”

Little was caught in a public order requiring the Progress Pride flag be flown at county facilities in June. The month is known as LGBTQ “Pride” month and the rainbow flag has extra colors to represent transgender people and people of color. The conflict started in March 2023 when the LA County Board of Supervisors passed the countywide rule.

Little’s request to be notified of when the flag would be flown and not have to raise the flag himself or not make sure it was raised at his station was granted the same day. That fell through when Pride flags were left near his station and lifeguards were ordered to fly the flags, the lawsuit stated.

The situation escalated when he took down the flags and followed up with human resources. His religious accommodation request was then denied. He was ordered by his supervisor to put up the flag at his tower, the lawsuit stated.

Little stood his ground, citing his religious beliefs and refused to fly the flags. He was told his religious beliefs “do not matter,” according to the complaint. He was told the flags must fly the entire month.

Little claims that the county retaliated against him by removing him from his role in a background investigation unit despite his “exemplary record,” according to his lawyer, Paul Jonna of the Thomas More Society.

Little also claimed he received a death threat against him and his family at home, according to the lawsuit, and had to use up his vacation time to avoid the Pride oppression at work.

With the kickoff of Pride month approaching this year, Little pursued a religious accommodation again so the wouldn’t be forced to fly the controversial flag. His lawyer said his requests were “essentially ignored” and he sought legal help.

Little fought back by filing the lawsuit which names as defendants the fire department and three lifeguard chiefs, and claims religious discrimination, retaliation and harassment and violations of the First Amendment.

The lawsuit wants “damages and injunctive relief—a temporary restraining order and permanent injunction—to protect Captain Little’s religious rights during Pride Month,” the Thomas More Society said.

Key Takeaways:

  • A lifeguard sued LA County for allegedly being punished over not flying the “Pride” flag.
  • The Christian lifeguard said his supervisor told him his religious beliefs “do not matter.”
  • The lawsuit demanded he receive religious accommodations to stop the oppression.
