Bombshell Poll Results Stun Washington – This Is Huge for the GOP’s Chances in 2024

America is only one primary into the new year and there are major shifts in the 2024 presidential election. A new poll also revealed more changes than expected as the primary season heats up.

Former President Donald Trump caused a huge shift after he dominated the Iowa caucuses with record-breaking results. His campaign is on fire as the next two candidates fight over second place.

Joe Biden wasn’t even in the race, and he was pummeled by new polling data that showed the strength of GOP candidates. Biden faces a tough race no matter which Republican wins the party nomination.

From The Hill:
The CBS News/YouGov poll found that former President Trump, former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis each edge out Biden in a head-to-head match-up. While Trump remains the clear favorite in the GOP primary, Haley fared the best against Biden.

A hypothetical general election between Trump and Biden showed that the 45th president would edge out the incumbent by a slight margin of 50 percent to 48 percent. A general election with these two on the ballot has strong odds with Trump leading the GOP field by 55 points among party voters. Trump sits at 69 percent support, followed by DeSantis and Haley at 14 percent and 12 percent, respectively.

DeSantis polled slightly better than Trump against Biden in the hypothetical match up. DeSantis tallied 51 percent support compared to Biden’s 48 percent. DeSantis finished second in the Iowa caucuses, about 30 points behind Trump.

Haley matches up best against Biden in this latest poll. She topped Biden 53 percent to 45 percent in the hypothetical tussle. The survey credited the 8-point difference to her gathering more support among moderates and independents than her fellow GOP candidates.

Biden’s camp must be concerned after Trump dominated at an historic level in Iowa. Add in results from this latest hypothetical match up and elites in Washington, D.C., are stunned at GOP chances in 2024.

Trump’s 55-point lead over the field among GOP voters places him clearly in the front runner position after Iowa. GOP challengers must pull out all the stops to unseat him from the lead. If he holds onto the lead spot as expected, DeSantis and Haley may be forced to step aside and let Trump work on building a lead over Biden.

Key Takeaways:

  • Stunning poll results put Washington on edge over GOP chances in 2024.
  • All remaining GOP candidates topped Biden in the latest survey of voters.
  • The hypothetical general election poll showed Trump with an edge.
