Trump Gets Surprise Boost from Infamous Liberal – Nobody Thought He’d Get This Ally in Court

What’s Happening:

Former President Trump might be leading in the GOP primary polls. But he is facing a tremendous uphill battle in his fight to return to the White House. Federal and state prosecutors have indicted him four times.

In addition to this, he is facing other civil lawsuits coming out of New York. Judges have shown possible biases against the Republican. His supporters frequently state these trials are nothing more than “election interference.”

Jack Smith, the federal prosecutor leading two of these trials, demanded Trump be barred from speaking about the cases. A judge issued a gag order on the former president. And now, Trump is getting support against this move from a very unlikely ally.

From The Post Millennial:
The American Civil Liberties Union has filed a lawsuit in the US District Court for the District of Columbia stating that the gag order imposed against Trump in the federal election case brought forth by special counsel Jack Smith is unconstitutional…

“Reading the order, Defendant cannot possibly know what he is permitted to say, and what he is not,” the order adds, urging Judge Tanya Chutkan to reevaluate her order, stating that some aspects of the gag order’s meaning are “unknown and perhaps unknowable.”

In a surprising twist of fate, far-left legal activist group, the ACLU, has filed a lawsuit to challenge a gag order against Donald Trump. The American Civil Liberties Union has reviewed the gag order and decided it was too vague and restricted Trump’s First Amendment rights.

The group is calling on Judge Tanya Chutkan to revise the order, with a specific, narrow focus on speech relating to the case at hand.

The ACLU is often maligned by conservatives for its support of radical, progressive causes. The leftist group rarely, if ever, spends time or resources helping Americans with traditional values. It will come as a shock to many that it is defending Trump over this issue.

The group made it clear they were not supporters of the former president’s political campaign. Nor do they think he’s guiltless. The ACLU claimed Trump’s past comments “caused great harm to countless individuals”–citing no examples.

Despite their obvious disdain for the Republican, they are still leading a lawsuit on his behalf. If they are successful, it will mean Trump can continue to speak freely to the public–not something Democrats apparently want.

Key Takeaways:

  • The American Civil Liberties Union has sued to reverse a gag order on Trump.
  • The radical, progressive group accused the court of restricting his First Amendment rights.
  • Instead, they are demanding a gag order “narrowly tailored” to the issues of the case.
