Of course, few Americans will bother to tune into the 3+ hour-long show where entitled, rich brats give each other golden trophies. Actress Andrea Riseborough’s surprise best actress nomination for her brilliant performance in the little-seen film “To Leslie,” which meant that the category had no black actresses, triggered an investigation by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and condemnation from a black film critic.
Apparently, nobody was expecting Andrea Riseborough to be nominated for her role in “To Leslie,” an indie film that brought in little cash. But critics claimed her performance was amazing. So perhaps she is deserving of at least a nomination?
But, not so fast, chump! Because she got nominated, no black actresses were nominated for “Best Leading Actress.” We can’t have that! If a black person isn’t nominated for every category, every year, then the Academy is racist!
That is what some people are saying. And the hopelessly liberal organization has launched an investigation to get to the bottom of this. An investigation? Hey, you are the people who nominated everyone! How are you going to investigate yourselves?
Do you see how stupid wokeness makes people? The Academy Awards isn’t nominating people because they are good at their job. They are nominating people just so they can look progressive and not racist.
What is going to happen? Will they strip Riseborough of her nomination and give it to a black actress, just so they aren’t attacked? That is pretty low, and this is an organization we didn’t think could get lower.
Just the fact that this is happening proves the Oscars are a sham. And the only people who care about them are leftists who want to use Hollywood to push their woke agenda.
