After a painful first half of the year with no sports, the NFL was poised to come back roaring.
Americans, after sitting through months of lockdowns, should have been eager to cheer their favorite teams.
But the first game of the season—between the Kansas City Chiefs and Texans—did not go as planned.
Why? Because the league, much like the NBA and MLB, has gone full social justice.
Players locked arms to show support for “equality.” But many fans seemed to believe they were really making a statement about Black Lives Matter.
It was supposed to be a profound moment of silence. But it’s not silence that they got in return. Watch how it played out:

Here’s more about what happened:
Fans in the sparse crowd at the NFL season opener between the Kansas City Chiefs and Houston Texans booed the players and coaches as they stood on the field and linked arms before the game before a moment of silence for unity…
After the demonstration, the Texans left the field for the playing of “Lift Every Voice and Sing,” known as the Black National Anthem, and “The Star-Spangled Banner,” which followed.
You’d think, after the pain the lockdowns caused, professional sports would do everything in their power to win over fans.
Instead, the NFL is ensuring another dreary season, as they push harder on the social justice message.
The NFL has been suffering dropping ratings and emptying stands for years, since the league sided with players over the Anthem protest.
Fans made it abundantly clear that they would not support teams that insulted our country and Flag.
Yet the NFL is going further than it ever has, with shows of support for BLM, even playing the “Black National Anthem.”
Because nothing says unity than an anthem for just one skin color.
We are seeing the NFL face the same kind of problems as basketball and baseball. The ratings for the opening night were just as dismal as the event itself.
It seems like the people who run professional sports are too scared of the “woke mob” than losing fans.
But if this trend keeps up, there might not be many fans left.
- The first NFL game of the season opened with social justice moment of unity.
- The few fans allowed to attend booed.
- The NFL is following other sports to push social justice and far-left politics.
