What’s Happening:
Democrats quickly complained after House Republicans elected Mike Johnson as the next Speaker. One liberal news commentator called him “Jim Jordan with a smile.” Which was supposedly an insult.
Leftists in Congress claimed Johnson was a threat to our democracy. Biden publicly congratulated the man, but internal memos and fundraising emails attacked him in much the same way.
Why are Democrats so angry over Johnson? The Republican is a strong conservative, yes. But something he just said could be the very reason the left is running scared over his appointment. And Biden should be worried as well.
From The Post Millennial:
House Speaker Rep. Mike Johnson said the federal probe into President Biden’s alleged criminal foreign business dealings will continue under his leadership, and stated that it is “very likely” Biden committed impeachable offenses…“The reason we shifted to the impeachment inquiry stage on the president himself was because if, in fact, all the evidence leads where we believe it will, that’s very likely impeachment.”
Speaker Johnson revealed that House Republicans’ inquiry into the Biden family will continue under his leadership. An impeachment probe was launched while Kevin McCarthy was House Speaker.
Questions remained of whether Johnson would continue the probe. But during an interview with Sean Hannity, Johnson claimed it is “very likely” President Biden committed impeachable offenses.
Since the start of 2023, House investigators have looked into Joe Biden’s history and finances. They have investigated banking and financial records. And many of them have accused Biden of engaging in bribery while he was vice president.
Others have produced evidence that could suggest Biden continued to barter for favors after his vice presidency, all the way up to his 2020 election.
Based on his comments, it appears Speaker Johnson also believes Biden is guilty of impeachable crimes. Democrats have strongly opposed these investigations. Media outlets have parroted a claim by the White House that there is “zero” evidence, despite everything Republicans have reported.
Should the evidence come out against Biden, it is safe to say all House Republicans will vote to impeach him. How the Senate will react to this news, remains to be seen.
