Earlier this year, the Biden administration disqualified Tennessee from being eligible for Title X “family planning” funding because the state had blocked the money from going toward counseling for abortion. According to a new report, $3.9 million of federal money will be sent from the Virginia League for Planned Parenthood to the Planned Parenthood of Tennessee and North Mississippi.

Gov. Bill Lee of Tennessee blasted the Biden administration for withholding Title X funding that goes to help families. The conservative state is being singled out by the federal government because it refuses to counsel women to get abortions.

Biden is now transferring funds from the Virginia League for Planned Parenthood to PP clinics in Tennessee. The administration is bypassing the state government to deposit funds directly into this organization’s pockets.

Meanwhile, the White House is denying Tennessee funds that could be used to help struggling mothers and families.

Tennessee is one of many red states with strong pro-life laws. The state has banned abortion except for serious risks to the woman. On top of this, the state prohibits Planned Parenthood and other groups from solely recommending abortion to women in need.

This comes as the Biden administration faces harsh criticism for its pro-abortion agenda. In the aftermath of Roe v. Wade’s demise, the White House has searched for ways to bypass state abortion bans.

Biden has tried to legalize the mailing of the so-called abortion pill to states with abortion bans. The administration has launched lawsuits against Republican-led states, joined by many abortion advocates.

The Supreme Court ruled that states are allowed to pass their own laws governing abortion. Democrats and the White House appear to be trying to undermine that ruling.
