The highest-ranking officer in the U.S. military just admitted he doesn’t know the meaning of one of the most controversial topics facing the nation and its military might. The candid response was shocking to the nation which fears the military may be suffering from a cultural revolution that weakens its capabilities.

This comes from General Mark Milley, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, who reads communist theories and works to understand how “white rage” affects the military. Milley was peppered with questions by CNN’s Fareed Zakaria on Sunday. The general’s responses left many with their jaws dropped open.

When questioned about the U.S. military being too woke, Milley was clear in his answer. From The Daily Wire:

“No, not at all,” Milley initially responded, then continued, “You know, I’m not even sure what that word truly means.”

Milley added that he believes the military is “exceptionally strong, it’s powerful, it’s ready,” and readiness is “better now than they’ve been in years.”

The U.S. military has been under public scrutiny based on a variety of revelations where the branches are proactively embracing Critical Race Theory (CRT), Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI), and progressive policies toward the LGBTQ community. Milley defended the current course of military policies and actions.

“This military is a lot of things, but woke it is not,” Milley claimed. “So, I take exception to that. I think that people say those things for reasons that are their own reasons. But it’s not true. It’s not accurate.

Some could argue that Milley is not up to date on current happenings inside the U.S. military. The Daily Wire relayed how The New York Post reported in September 2022 that Air Force cadets had been instructed not to use gender-specific terms like “Mom” or “Dad” and replace such terms with words such as “parent” or “caregiver.”

That instruction was featured at the Air Force Academy in Colorado as part of cadets’ “Diversity and inclusion (D&I) training.” “Our leaders have deemed D&I a warfighting imperative,” the cadets were told.

Republican members of Congress have repeatedly called out Milley and the military branches for woke policies. In July 2021, according to The Daily Wire, Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR) revealed “several hundred whistleblower complaints about Pentagon extremist and diversity training.”
