What’s Happening:

Liberals across the country have clearly stated that they want allegedly pornographic books to remain in public libraries and taxpayers should pay for the books. That topic hit a boiling on Capitol Hill this week when this senator challenged liberal leaders about the issue.

Taxpayers around the country have questioned why they should be paying for books that to them are considered disgusting and perverse. Their questions have been met with harsh criticism and the opposition has claimed they are full of all kinds of “phobic” responses.

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) had enough of these arguments and took offense at a Democrat who appeared to testify that taxpayers shouldn’t have a say in how their money is spent.

“A public library is supported by public dollars. Are you telling the taxpayers of this country to just shut up?” Graham asked. “Are you telling them that you don’t have a voice about how your taxpayer dollars are being spent?”

Graham, the ranking member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, was participating in a hearing entitled “Book Bans: Examining How Censorship Limits Liberty and Literature” in response to attempts to remove pornographic content from libraries.

Graham’s questions were angled toward Democrats who support these books in libraries where children can read them. Testifying at the time was Democrat Secretary of State Alexis Giannoulias of Illinois who was defending the liberal position.

Graham was clearly angry at any notion that taxpayers should not have a say in how their tax dollars are spent. He encouraged taxpayers, those who are parents and those who don’t have children, to make their voices heard on these matters at the local level.

“It’s OK to speak out for your community,” Graham said. ” The day that any parent cannot come forward and say ‘I object’ is a bad day for America.”

He expressed how a public library has a board where community members decide what books are in or out at the library and people should lend their voices to help in those decisions.
