Justice Department To Retry Top Senate Democrat For Bribery, Corruption Charges

Surprise, surprise, a liberal indicted for corruption. That’s like saying ducks like to swim. Time and again we learn about Democrats breaking the law. But how often are they actually held accountable? Not often enough.

Still, people vote for this pathetic group of crooks. Many Americans don’t realize that Democrats abuse our government for their own gain.

In this story, a senator from New Jersey was indicted for bribery and corruption. Yet despite the evidence, he got off on a deadlocked jury. A mistrial. A miscarriage of justice.

But hope remains that he will get what he deserves. Because the DOJ is not lying down over this. They, in fact, are planning a retrial on Senator Bob Menendez.

From Politico:

Two months after a jury failed to reach a verdict in the federal corruption case against Democratic Sen. Bob Menendez and co-defendant Salomon Melgen, the Justice Department on Friday said it wants to retry them — and soon.

“The United States files this notice of intent to retry the defendants and requests that the Court set the case for retrial at the earliest possible date,” reads the one-paragraph notice signed by AnnaLou Tirol, acting chief of the department’s public integrity section. “Defendants Robert Menendez and Salomon Melgen have been indicted for bribery and corruption by two separate grand juries properly impaneled in the District of New Jersey. The first trial ended in a mistrial with a deadlocked jury. An early retrial date is in the best interests of the public, and the United States is available to schedule a retrial at the Court’s earliest convenience.”

Menendez is one of the most belligerent, outspoken members of Senate. He had no problem attacking his conservative colleagues, accusing them of wrongdoing. But at the same time, he was guilty of bribery and corruption.

Not a huge surprise. Democrats love accusing people of the very thing they are guilty of. They call Trump a sexist, while they sexually harass their own staff. They say Republicans are corrupt, while they steal money from donors, bribe officials, and break the law.

There is no reason why Menendez should get off on a technicality. He abused his power for his own gain. He broke the law, plain and simple.

But he still might get away with it. The only true justice comes in the form of us, the people. Will we let this man continue to work in government? Or will the people of New Jersey boot this crook out of office?
