The 2020 election has come down to a few, critical states. That includes the infamous Pennsylvania.
Trump’s team complained that their poll watchers have been kept away from seeing the ballot count. Especially in certain (Democrat) districts.
And now, a Pennsylvania judge is handing them a major victory:
A Pennsylvania appellate court ordered Thursday that President Donald Trump’s campaign must be allowed to observe the remaining ballot counting process.
Judge Christine Fizzano Cannon’s order reversed a prior ruling against the Trump campaign and allows campaign officials to observe ballot counters from six feet away to comply with coronavirus social distancing practices.
The judge ordered that Trump’s people can place observers at polling places as the vote was being counted.
Corey Lewandowski, a campaign staffer, revealed they were going to place an observer behind “every single voter counter.”
Previously, Rudy Giuliani and other Trump lawyers descended on PA to raise hell. It seems the campaign is convinced Trump is strongly competitive in the state—but they are accusing election officials of trying to play games.
Trump had a solid lead after Election Night when officials suddenly stopped counting ballots. They resumed the next day, but something smelled fishy.
Many have worried about the fate of the election, as several key states have been delaying the vote count or accepting late ballots.
Trump has vowed to take this battle to the courts, all the way to the Supreme Court.
However this election ends, it might not be soon.
- A Pennsylvania judge upheld a Trump lawsuit against ballot counters.
- The judge ordered that observers can be in the room as votes are tallies.
- The campaign vowed to place watchers behind every vote counter.
