Democrats have good reason to fear House Speaker Mike Johnson. The strong “MAGA” conservative has been moving fast to advance Republicans’ agenda.
He is supporting House investigators’ impeachment probe against Joe Biden, holding a formal vote to approve it this week.
He has just updated the country on the status of another major investigation. And he promised Republicans are going to amp up what Democrats had seemingly failed to do.
From Just the News:
The House Republican overseeing the Jan. 6 investigation tells Just the News that Speaker Mike Johnson has approved expanding the scope and “intensity” of the probe and increasing the investigative resources committed to it…“In fact, he’s given me a commission to not only press forward in the method we’ve been doing, but increase our intensity into this.”
Rep. Barry Loudermilk revealed that Speaker Johnson is going to expand the scope of the January 6 investigations. House Republicans are devoting more resources to the case and will increase its “intensity.”
An investigation into the events of January 6, 2021, was started by Democrats. Many were critical of how House Democrats, under Nancy Pelosi, conducted their investigations. They aired primetime hearings focused on putting the blame on Donald Trump.
Since Republicans retook the House majority, however, the focus of the investigation has shifted. Republicans released hundreds of hours of security footage and other testimony, which some have claimed refuted Democrats’ accusations.
Many in the public square have accused Democrats of spinning a false narrative of the vents of that day. Some believe American citizens arrested for being in attendance have been wrongly accused.
Loudermilk has accused Democrats of spreading “flat out lies” about January 6. He even claimed that a “number of documents” were not handed over to them or destroyed.
Some of the bombshells that have come out thanks to House Republicans include the knowledge that undercover police were in the crowd, as well as Antifa members.
Key Takeaways:
- House Speaker Johnson is expanding Republicans’ investigation of January 6.
- Loudermilk has accused Democrats of lying about what happened on that day.
- Republicans have released much video and evidence that Democrats refused to show the public.
