Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has not announced a 2024 campaign. But Donald Trump must know something we don’t. Because he’s spent considerable time on his social network, attacking the man. He used to be a close ally of the governor’s. Now, Trump claims DeSantis is a RINO, owes his success to him, and “closed up” Florida during COVID.
Trump seems pretty worried about DeSantis’s possible presidential bid. But his attacks don’t seem to be landing as well as they should. Trump can’t seem to come up with a good nickname for the man. And his accusations are far from provable, especially when you consider DeSantis’s massive success fighting the woke left and rebuilding the state.
And now, famed podcaster Joe Rogan is weighing in on the fight.

Podcast host Joe Rogan said that former President Donald Trump’s attempts to brand Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis with a nickname would be unsuccessful because the governor’s “success in Florida is pretty unparalleled.” […]
When Rogan’s guest noted that Trump was losing “losing his touch” in coming up with nicknames, Rogan responded that the task would be even harder for Trump to do with the Florida governor.
“Well, there’s not a good one that you can come up with for Ron,” Rogan said. “Because Ron, he’s too good with that base and his success in Florida is pretty unparalleled.”
Wow. Rogan commented on Trump’s repeated attempts to slander Gov. DeSantis. The best nickname Trump has come up with is DeSantimonious. Hardly rolls off the tongue. It sounds as contrived and desperate as Charlie Crist’s “DeSatan.”
Rogan slammed Trump’s attacks, saying the former president can’t really nail DeSantis because of his “unparalleled” success in Florida. Despite Trump’s claims, DeSantis kept Florida alive during COVID. He reopened the state early and saw massive numbers of visitors. Even still, he managed to prevent COVID from spreading like wildfire.
Florida has prospered so much under DeSantis, that countless Americans have fled blue states to relocate there. DeSantis has gone to war with the woke left, removing gender teaching from schools and even putting Disney in its place.
The media were praying DeSantis would stumble during Hurricane Ian. Instead, he did such an amazing recovery job, that Democrats vowed to vote for him. And vote they did. He won re-election by a landslide 1 million votes.
Trump’s attacks sound empty and petty at this point. Instead, why isn’t he partnering with the governor? It seems Trump can’t stand sharing the spotlight with another man. And that might destroy his own 2024 chances.
