What’s Happening:
From all appearances, it seems Joe Biden is more concerned with Ukraine than with the United States. America is facing numerous crises. One after another, problems have rocked our national security, economy, communities, and the border. Yet Biden secretly jetted off to Europe to pledge millions more to help another country fight their war.
It’s safe to say most Americans support the U.S. helping Ukraine in some small way. But Biden has failed to broker peace, a common role for previous presidents. Instead, he has spent over $100 billion funding this war. And now, Americans are sending him a clear message: no more.
From The Post Millennial:
Nearly one year after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, public support for the role the United States is playing in supplying weapons and funds to the eastern European nation has declined among both Democrats and Republicans alike…
Associated Press and NORC poll showing that 75 percent of American adults believe that the US should play a major (26 percent) or minor (49 percent) role in the conflict. Nearly a quarter (24 percent) said that the US should not play a role in the conflict.
According to the latest poll, 75 percent of Americans want the U.S. to play a role in helping Ukraine. But 49 percent say the U.S. should only play a minor role. Only 26 percent think we should play a “major” role.
Hmm… does $100 billion sound major or minor? Keep in mind, since we’ve been bankrolling the war, America has been hit with damaging hurricanes, blizzards, a trail derailment, closed airports, and crumbling infrastructure. Perhaps that $100 billion would have been better spent helping Americans, than lining the pockets of weapons manufacturers, huh?
Biden pretends like he’s helping the war. But those billions aren’t being used to house displaced Ukrainians or feed their babies. It’s being spent on guns and tanks. That money is being handed over to the military-industrial complex. To fuel a war we have nothing to do with.
The overall support for Ukraine, mind you, is declining. Both Republicans and Democrats are losing interest in seeing America fund this war. They support sanctions on Russia sure (even though they are doing nothing), but watching our wealth feed endless death?
I thought that’s why Biden pulled us out of Afghanistan! But he still needed an excuse to keep enriching those special interest groups and lobbyists, huh? And Ukraine is a good enough reason than any other. Don’t forget Biden’s family has a long, crooked relationship with Ukraine.
Perhaps the thing that needs to change isn’t our support of Ukraine, but of our president?
Key Takeaways:
- Support for funding the war in Ukraine is fading, according to a new poll.
- Only 26% of Americans want us to play a major role in the war.
- This comes as Biden pledges more and more money to fund the war.
