What’s Happening:
Joe Biden is the typical “tax-and-spend” Democrat. In fact, he might be the very worst. Joe has plied Congress for billions of dollars. First for “COVID response” (though we learned little of the money when to that). Then, he shuttled hundreds of millions of dollars to Latin America (which did nothing to help the border crisis).
Worst of all, Biden has given nearly $40 billion to Ukraine, to help fund a war that seemingly never ends. And let’s not forget how he promised $500 billion for entitled college students. But when American citizens hammered by a historically-bad hurricane asked for funds, Biden refused. So, the Florida governor is firing back.
From The Post Millennial:
Following FEMA’s denial of Florida’s request for emergency funds to help rebuild homes destroyed by Hurricane Ian, Ron DeSantis announced that the state will provide up to $25 million for emergency relief…
“We’re not just gonna sit there and take no for an answer,” he said, “we’re gonna figure out what we can do.”
“We wanna cut through bureaucracy,” he continued, “we wanna bring relief to impacted Floridians, regardless of whether FEMA wants to be a part of that.”
This is truly disgusting. Biden can dish out billions for people overseas. He can house illegal aliens and dish out BILLIONS in white-collar welfare to “forgive” student loans. But when honest, hard-working Americans lose their homes through no fault of their own, suddenly Biden’s hands are tied.
Are we at all surprised? Biden has no trouble taking money from hard-working Americans and giving it to people who don’t deserve it. But when there are deserving Americans in need, there’s “limited authority.”
There will always be “limited authority” for conservatives and honest Americans. Biden is only interested in handing out checks to his allies and folks he thinks will vote for his party. Everyone else is on their own.
But Gov. DeSantis refuses to let down the many Floridians who are in need. He has committed $25 million in state funds to help with the rebuilding effort. Anyone who’s lived through a hurricane knows much more is needed. We can be sure that DeSantis will move heaven and earth to supply it.
Which is far more than Biden has ever done for Americans.
Key Takeaways:
- Biden’s administration has denied requests for aid to rebuild Florida after Hurricane Ian.
- This is after Biden’s shelled out $40 billion for Ukraine and $500 billion for college students.
- Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has vowed to help those who lost their homes in the storm.
