Months after Jay Leno suffered “serious burns” in a gasoline fire while working on one of his vehicles, the comedian said he broke several bones in a motorcycle accident.
Leno, 72, was “knocked off” a motorcycle Jan. 17 by a wire strung across a parking lot, breaking two ribs, two kneecaps and a collarbone, he told the Las Vegas Review Journal.

He turned off the road, down a side street to cut through a parking lot. He perhaps was planning to either quickly go home and check the bike or park on the spot. Unfortunately, someone had strung a wire across the parking lot but failed to identify it with a flag or sign.
Leno hit the wire and was knocked off his bike. He suffered two broken ribs, two broken kneecaps, and a broken collarbone. That is a pretty serious accident. Thankfully, though, none of the injuries were fatal and he received apt medical treatment.
Despite the injuries, the well-known comedian said he was “Ok!” And he even plans to be “working” this weekend. It is unclear if that means work in his garage or appearing at a comedy show.
Jay Leno has been a beloved household fixture in America for decades. Even after leaving late-night television, he’s continued to produce content on classic cars as well as appear at comedy shows doing stand-up.
