What’s Happening:
Most Americans don’t even remember the events of January 6, 2021. Yet the left continues to claim this riot was an “insurrection.” They are even throwing the book at hundreds of Americans who were unlucky enough to be at the Capitol.
(Odd how they haven’t bothered to spend a fraction of the same energy prosecuting rioters and looters from the Summer 2020 riots.)
But much more is going on than the media let on. The left threw the book at one defendant accusing him of (among other things) “violent entry and disorderly conduct.” This is what really happened.
From The Epoch Times:
A federal contractor was acquitted by a judge on April 6 on four charges in relation to entering the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021…
“While I was at the top, they started letting people into the building. And I—so I joined the—they were holding the doors open, the guards were. And I walked in and saw the rotunda,” Martin told an FBI agent during an interview…
McFadden also said there was no evidence Martin, who spent about 10 minutes inside the Capitol, intended to disrupt Congress from certifying President Joe Biden’s electoral victory and described the defendant as a “silent observer of the actions of others.”
Here’s something you won’t read on CNN (or perhaps Fox News). One of the people being charged by federal prosecutors for the “insurrection” on January 6 was acquitted.
The judge himself threw out the charges, which included “entering and remaining in a restricted building, disorderly and disruptive conduct in a restricted building, violent entry and disorderly conduct in a Capitol building, and parading, demonstrating, or picketing in a Capitol building.”
Matthew Martin attended the Trump rally earlier in the day. Then, according to his own testimony, he went to the Capitol Building to see what was going on.
He found police officers holding the doors open, waving at people and directing them to go inside. Hmm… how interesting. The media didn’t mention that.
Martin walked into the Rotunda, took some video, and left after about 10 minutes. Yet these radical prosecutors charged him with “violent entry.” Really?
Are we to believe that a government contractor who took a few minutes of video was a violent rioter? Even as he complied with what the police were doing?
The judge acquitted Martin, saying he didn’t anything more than what reporters do in the Rotunda on any given day.
Sure, there are others who did more and should be prosecuted. But are we really going to believe the narrative that these people were violent criminals trying to overthrow Congress?
Key Takeaways:
- A judge acquitted a man at the January 6 Capitol riot.
- Matthew Martin testified that police were waving them into the building.
- Prosecutors hit Martin with numerous charges including “violent entry.”
