The horrible terror attacks on October 7, 2023, have shaken the world. In the aftermath, Israel went to war with terror group Hamas. To the shock of the nation, progressive Democrats sided with Gaza. They push anti-Israel and antisemitic rhetoric, sparking chaos and conflict within their party.
But the crisis is even worse than most have thought.
Not long ago, Israeli forces liberated some of the hostages still held captive in Gaza. They revealed these civilians were being held in the home of Abdallah Aljamal. Aljamal was a spokesman for a Hamas-run agency and a supporter of the terror network. But, as it turns out, he had close ties to an American organization. And now, Republicans are demanding answers.
From Fox News:
A pro-Palestinian news outlet linked to Hamas is facing scrutiny from three separate House committees in a joint memo urging the Department of Justice (DOJ) to investigate…“We write to urge you to investigate The Palestine Chronicle and People Media Project for violating the law, particularly for providing material support to a known terrorist organization in violation of 18 U.S.C. § 2339B, for filing a false tax return in violation of 26 U.S.C. § 7206, and for failing to file a valid tax return and pay estimated taxes in violation of 26 U.S.C. § 7203,” the letter said.
It comes after multiple Israeli hostages… were found in the home of Abdallah Aljamal… Aljamal was a contributor to media outlets, including The Palestine Chronicle, as well as a spokesman for the Hamas-run Gaza Labor Ministry. He was killed by the IDF during an operation to rescue the hostages.
Three House committees wrote to the Department of Justice, demanding investigations into The Palestine Chronicle and the People Media Project. They have accused these groups of breaking U.S. tax laws and contributing to a “known terrorist organization.” This come after Abdallah Aljamal, a contributor to the outlet, was revealed to be a member of Hamas.
This will put a wrinkle in the left’s advocacy for Palestinians. An American paper, run by Palestinians, was working with a man who aligned himself with Hamas. Most of the leftists siding with Gaza claim they support the people, not the terror network. But time and again, it appears those lines are blurred, as many Palestinians appear to side with Hamas. And progressive protestors often chant the same slogans used by antisemitic forces around the world.
It is unknown what will happen to this outlet. But if the DOJ has any shred of integrity left, it will investigate these referrals. How can a paper operate in the U.S., if it was knowingly working with a member of a terror network?
In the coming weeks, the demand for a federal probe will likely spark further debates in Congress and the media. But for now, the message is clear:
Republican lawmakers will not tolerate any form of terrorism, whether it originates abroad or is harbored within its own borders.
Key Takeaways:
- Abdallah Aljamal, a writer for American outlet The Palestinian Chronicle, was revealed to be working for Hamas.
- Aljamal was holding Israeli hostages in his home in Gaza; he was killed by IDF forces.
- Republican lawmakers are demanding DOJ investigations into the paper, accusing it of breaking federal law.
