As frustrating as it has been for Conservatives to watch both House and Senate Republicans squander their chances at fully repealing certain Obama laws, what is encouraging is that there are enough conservative Republicans in the House of Representatives to keep Paul Ryan on his toes.
Thanks to these few, sane congressmen and congresswomen who believe in the concept of the rule of law, liberty, life, and the pursuit of happiness are able to steer Paul Ryan and his RINOs away from bigger government.
As the big spending bill looms to the forefront this week, conservative House members have made a stand against a possible compromise that would allow one of Obama’s disgusting policies to stay alive. Thankfully Paul Ryan listened, and now the House has confirmed their brilliant move that will force the Senate to follow in their footsteps.
From Breitbart:
The House will not include an Obamacare bailout package in their must-pass omnibus spending bill.
Multiple lawmakers left a meeting with House Republican leadership on Monday night, confirming that the House version of the omnibus spending bill will not include an Obamacare bailout package proposed by Sens. Lamar Alexander (R-TN) and Susan Collins (R-ME).
Congress must pass the omnibus spending bill before midnight Friday or the government will shut down.
The removal of the Obamacare bailout proposal deals a blow to Sen. Collins, who secured support from Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) to support the bailout measure in exchange for her vote for the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act in December.
I frankly do not know or understand why Obamacare is still part of the spending bill conversation. It should be forever repealed. End of discussion.
Alongside that, it is very telling to see Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell create a backroom deal with Senator Collins for a vote. This isn’t what should be happening at all in politics. Unfortunately, these elected officials have degraded the use of the word politics, both Republican and Democrat alike. It’s all a game now of securing votes for other votes, or pork spending for votes. Forget the fact that these laws will directly affect their constituents. For them, it’s all about what they want, not what the people want.
Again, I cannot stress the gratitude I have for those conservatives in the House that are actually putting principles and people ahead of their own personal ambitions. Hopefully, the Senate will acknowledge the House spending plan and get this bill passed before another shutdown occurs.
