Long before Trump shook up D.C., he was helping the entertainment industry rake in the big bucks.
Television, Hollywood, and even the media fawned over Trump and his iconic show, The Apprentice.
But once he entered politics, vowing to put America first, they all turned on him. And it seems, all these years later, Hollywood is still bitter.
The Screen Actors Guild, using the events of January 6 as an excuse, is considering expelling him. But Trump beat them to the punch.
From Fox News:
President Trump is resigning from The Screen Actors Guild – American Federation of Television and Radio Artists after they threatened to expel his membership from the union after the Capitol riot — to which he said, “Who cares!”
“I write to you today regarding the so-called Disciplinary Committee hearing aimed at revoking my union membership. Who cares!” Trump wrote to Carteris.
Trump pre-emptively quit The Screen Actors Guild after the liberal-leaning group threatened to dump him.
It seems the union, made up of Hollywood liberals, wanted to pointless signal their virtue by waiting until Trump left office to oust him.
You’d think if they really hated Trump, they would have kicked him out much sooner. But maybe having a sitting president (who was forced to pay dues) made them look good?
Trump used the opportunity to slam the union, revealing that they did “nothing” for him and little for other members.
He pointed to a recent video where “celebrated actors” criticized union, accusing it of not fighting for them.
The president also slammed the union’s “policy failures” and their apparent inability to confront issues among actors. Perhaps he is referring to the many actors and Hollywood celebs who have been outed during the “MeToo” movement.
The union didn’t have much to say in light of this blistering rebuke. Their president simply wrote, “Thank you.”
I guess they couldn’t respond to his powerful accusations or even defend themselves. Hey, if they can’t even defend their own actors… should we be surprised?
