Hawley Drops the Hammer on Anti-Israel Protesters – Demands Answers on 1 Critical Issue

What’s Happening:

Almost immediate and harsh anti-Israel protests flooded American college campuses after Hamas slaughtered innocent civilians in Israel over the weekend. Campus groups demonstrated across the country and many penned statements of support for anti-Israel efforts, including violent actions.

Groups that empathize with these actions are often blaming Israel for what has happened. U.S. citizens and politicians have questioned this support and wonder why these groups support actions lik this.

One U.S. senator took the questioning a step further and wants federal officials to investigate these groups and who may be funding their protests on U.S. soil. Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO) suspects there is more to these college groups than what Americans know.

From The Daily Wire:
“I hope the DOJ is investigating where the money is coming from,” Hawley said. “Are there terror groups who are part of these networks who are infiltrating our campuses?”

Hawley questioned how upper-tier colleges such as Harvard University could allow protesting students to blame Israel for being attacked and not blame Hamas. Hamas, Hawley explained in a TV interview, is murdering children and want to wipe Israel off the face of world.

“That’s what the terrorists want and to be silent in the face of that or to celebrate it as these crazy student groups are doing?” Hawley asked.

The senator said it is “grotesque” for college administrators to hold out their hand and take federal money – taxpayer money – and to silently condone these actions against Israel. News reports have revealed that various campus chapters of Students for Justice in Palestine, a national organization that advocates for Palestinian liberation, released statements applauding the Hamas attack.

Hawley made it a point to question why institutions of higher education harbor students who openly call for supporting Hamas.

“How is it that a prestigious university like Harvard could have students this, frankly, dumb and ignorant?” Hawley asked. “Makes me want to send my kids to a state school any day over that institution.”

Going to a state school doesn’t avoid this type of mentality that supports bad actors such as this. Anti-Israel groups exist on states schools, and many are larger than any elite school in the nation.

Key Takeaways:

  • S. senator calls out “grotesque” Ivy League school for anti-Israel student groups.
  • Hawley wants to know if federal law enforcement is investigating the groups.
  • College administrators accept taxpayer money while being silent on the terrible actions of Hamas.
