GOP Sends Biden an Ultimatum – They Demand Joe End This 1 Policy Immediately or Else…

What’s Happening:

Last time I checked, it was 2023. In fact, we are over halfway through 2023. The vast majority of businesses, schools, churches, and so on have moved on from the tyrannical lockdown mandates of 2020. Sure, some within the media are trying to hype up COVID again, but even liberal Americans are done with cowering every time the government says, “Boo.”

But, believe it or not, government agencies by and large have not returned to regular business. Most federal agency buildings are empty, as most workers continue to “work” from home. Despite this, Biden is spending your tax dollars on leasing mostly vacant buildings. And now, Republicans are telling him to put up or shut up.

From The Post Millennial:

This week, Republican members of Congress are telling the Biden administration to end COVID-era work-from-home policies or sell the unused office space that is costing taxpayers billions annually to maintain.

The Daily Mail reported that it cost federal agencies in Washington DC over $7 billion to lease and maintain their offices, of which 75 percent currently remain vacant, according to the Government Accountability Office.

Yep, you read that right. Biden is ripping you off, yet again. The federal government still has a work-from-home mandate for government employees. Nearly 75% of government buildings in D.C. alone are empty. Despite it being three years since the height of the pandemic, the government never reversed this policy.

That means, the federal government is spending your tax dollars on buildings that are not even being used. Sounds about right.

Republicans are calling on Biden to end this charade. Either order workers to get back to work, or sell off the unused office space. The government owns some of these buildings, but others are simply being leased.

All the government has to do is end those leases. They might even get money back. While not all government-owned buildings can be sold, they certainly don’t need to keep maintaining empty buildings.

Not only that, but one report suggests that government employees are not even working from home. Some have taken advantage of this policy to hang out at hot tubs, go golfing, and splurge during happy hours.

So, not only is Biden wasting money on empty buildings, but he’s paying people not to work. So much for the “most accountable administration” in U.S. history!

Key Takeaways:

  • Republicans are demanding Biden end a work-from-home policy for federal employees.
  • Seventy-five percent of D.C. government buildings are empty, but the government is spending $7 billion to maintain them.
  • Some employees are taking advantage of the policy to go on trips and not work.
