What’s Happening:
There isn’t a governor more petty and bitter than California’s own Gavin Newsom. While most governors are working overtime to lead their states, Newsom picks fights with Republicans. He went after Florida’s Ron DeSantis and criticized pro-life Texas.
More recently, he tweeted out a nasty attack on the newly-elected Governor of Arkansas, Sarah Huckabee Sanders. He tried to blame her for the murder rates of her state–despite the fact that she literally has been on the job for a month. But this former Trump official was not taking Gavin’s attack lying down. And she put him to shame.

Sanders said the fact that Newsom was attacking her proved that she was doing something right…
“Let’s not forget, he literally had to run ads begging people to stay in California not that long ago. And every single town I go to in Arkansas, I meet someone who has moved from California,” she said. “My message to them is we’re glad you’re here but don’t forget why you left California. We are proud of our state and our gates are open for people to come.”
Ouch, that’s gotta hurt! It looks like Newsom is so keen on attacking red states–because he’s just bitter so many people are leaving his. California has seen the biggest exodus of residents fleeing into other states.
And, at the same time, California has the highest taxes, highest costs of living, highest crime rates than most states in the country. It also has a liberal supermajority that has all but banned gun ownership and pushed job-destroying environmental regulations.
Sanders destroyed Newsom’s unprovoked swipe by pointing out that many people have left California for Arkansas. She even said that in every town she visits, she meets people who used to live in California.
People are leaving California to go to Arkansas? Now I have seen everything! Things are getting so bad in the “Golden State,” that many Americans would rather live in Arkansas–a state long insulted by liberals for being “backward” and Southern.
But many would rather live in a state led by a strong, conservative woman than a “golden” state that is being run by communists. Newsom really doesn’t have any rebuttal for Sanders’ response. He can attack red states all he wants. The fact remains California is falling apart thanks to him and his party.
Before he attacks another Republican-run state, he should spend some time–you know–leading his own?
